    Shit, re Convex, I started addicted to his URB podcast mix, and then I listened to his XLR8R one which is quite similar but possibly better... he's got such a decent ear for good sound. I must confess I'm not a huge fan of his on productions (although New Model is incredible).

    Oh! To give FlyLo some credz, his visuals were pretty beast. He was playing in between two screens (one which was being projected onto from the back, the front one from the front) which gave a solid impression. It wasn't blow-my-mind good, nor was the venue that was apparently massive, but I think I've just become pretty desensitised to shit in recent years, dunno why. Maybe too much magic...

    Honestly? It wasn't that great. FlyLo was just 'good' at best, and at worst, DJing as opposed to live. I was happy when he played TNGHT's Higher Ground, which was epic (I'm sure you've heard but if you haven't, imagine this in the biggest venue you've ever been in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HzyUHxmkg0 - on first listen months ago it didn't inspire me much, but really grew on me.) As for Shadow, as my friend described, "he's past it". He really was. My highlight was actually Jamie XX, but my girlfriend and housemate were about ready to go for 1.30am about halfway through his set, and I was too sober to care much. The others... difficult to enjoy sober, which is a shame. I think it kind of planted me as firmly a house & tech guy when it comes to going out, because that's what JXX was playing, I'd had one beer, and it was still really decent. But yeah, I'm glad you didn't get on the plane :p
