It sucks but at the same time I'd rather have them go out on top than to put out shit. That first interview where Ride talked they mentioned always going forward, never lateral movement, and it seems they took it to where they wanted it to go and stopped. They'll collaborate again in the future, I'm sure of it. Zach especially is prolific as fuck.

If you're ever itching to check out death metal I recommend Death's "The Sound of Perseverance", specifically the songs "Story to Tell" and "Flesh and the Power it Holds". It's the album that got me started on this whole death metal thing, it's more on the technical side but it really is a masterpiece and great entrance point.

Hahaha he showed up at Wrestlemania XXX to cut a promo with The Rock and Hogan, and it wasn't bad. Bret Hart on the other hand looks old as FUCK.

Monthly Wrasslin' WroundUp™: Tonight's Money in the Bank PPV was pretty good, two ladder matches that bookended the show, pretty good shit. Both matches were great, the first was better than the second though. They fumbled a great opportunity to add fuel to a feud that's going on between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Seth won the first match which earned him a contract title shot in the future to be "cashed in" at any time. The second match was for the title and instead of the logical choice (having Roman Reigns win so that eventually Seth and Roman square off) it was fucking John Cena.

Hahaha it's like a running joke at this point with Ghost. The Mars Volta are kind of the same way where it's not about what he's saying, it's more about how he says it. I listen to a lot of metal so that doesn't bother me. I couldn't imagine hearing Loveless without the vocals though. It almost sounds like another layer of guitar, especially when it's Bilinda.

I'm really liking it. I haven't dug into the lyrics yet but that's mainly because I listen to my iPod all day at work and can't quite make out what the lyrics are. Musically it's interesting enough to just consider the vocals as another instrument. I like Bilinda's vocals more than Kevin's I think. Favorites - Only Shallow, I Only Said, Come in Alone. Also I've never heard of that Ghost before, then again according to last.fm there are like 17 bands called Ghost.

I'm similar to your music listening habits with my movie watching habits in that I try to only watch movies I haven't seen. The real question is, how often do you go back and listen to something like Loveless, a "comfort album"? There are a few movies that after a real bender of new ones I'll go back and watch to cleanse the palate.

Niggas on the Moon is really cool. I don't know how exactly I qualitatively feel about it yet, that'll take more listens but I know I like it. I dig that it all flows together, there aren't really any breaks in the music from one track to the next.

Finally sat down to watch Beyond the Black Rainbow. I was really into it up until the point where she escapes. It just took on a whole different tone with attempts at humor and shit like that. I ended up giving it a 6, could have been an 8 with some editing and without the needless action movie shit. And that fucking last kill are you kidding me? He hit his head on a fucking rock.

I get that. It speeds up a lot and doesn't quite have that rumble that true doom does.

I don't usually care too much for doom metal but damn that self-titled Saint Vitus record is impressive.

The last month has been pretty bad for new music for me, I've been trying to keep up with the various storylines in both Marvel and DC comics, there are a lot of pretty exciting things happening, especially with Marvel's relaunches and DC's Future's End series.

Did you end up checking out Ghost? They just announced that they're gonna record their third record this fall and I seriously can't think of any new band I'm more excited by. They're just so damn good.

I LOVE House of the Devil. I spent way too much money seeing that movie when it was only in independent theaters. I just watched You're Next a few days ago and it was pretty clever.

That really did kill the film for me. If you end up watching the second one let me know what you think of it. There's a scene involving an elevator that is really unnerving and pretty creative. There are definitely still some shitty effects though. I wish that movie had gone the route of something like Paranormal Activity where it left more to the imagination. Both films had similar budgets too and apart from the very last frame of PA I thought it was excellent.

Melancholia is an excellent film, one of von Trier's more accessible films thank God. He gets pretty out there. I liked Grave Encounters enough to give it a 6 but I liked the second one much more. It's got a few interesting ideas that are pretty unique, especially for such a low budget horror movies.

Have you ever seen Eyes Wide Shut? I've thought a lot about it and it's probably my favorite movie.
