family businesses could not support the current population if they tried to do it by farming animals. vegan farms = massively more efficient = masses less energy required to achieve desired result. It really is that simple. I live on a farm that could support (at most) 40 people on a meat diet, but upwards of 350 vegans. It's the commonest of common sense.

LOL! no, I'm not going to try harder. If you don't want to do what's right, that's your choice. But as you hear reports of global warming and ecosystem collapse, just know that you're not part of the cure. -_-

I'm just saying... how would you like it if we met an alien race that were far more intelligent and powerful than us and they decided to forcefully take us from our homes, keep us in cages, fatten us up and eat us? I wouldn't like it. And remember, that's what we're constantly doing to other species. :( What gave us the right to do that? Our power?

It's got nothing to do with how cows view sex. It's to do with how WE view sex. Treat others as you would have others treat you. Ie: don't stick things up their bodily orifices, don't take their babies away from them and don't kill them, cook them and eat them. They have brains and they try to escape danger. I don't want to eat something that would run away from me if it wasn't in a cage.

Re: raping cows and your shouts at robdoubleu - Maybe milking cow's udders is not a sexual act. But inserting your hand into their vaginas in order to impregnate than with bull semen *is* and farmers are doing that all the time in order to keep the cows pregnant and lactating. Look up Artificial Insemination of cattle.

If you think so, neither you or I are biologists so we'll just be debating science like 16th century Catholics. Leaving alone the defining issue, I still think it's a bad thing, and you don't.

I believe the udders are rly; mitosis (sex cell reproduction) occurs in them, which is why I believe they are. If milk came out of the tail on both sexes, the tail wouldn't be the sexual organ. Lol at imagining milk spurting out of a tail though.

Well personally, I think forcefully squeezing sexual organs is a sexual act, though it pretty much never is done for the sexual pleasure of the one who does it.

1. I didn't mention anything about that, but if the bread contained dairy, yes. 2. rape (rāp) n. The crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse. Though cows aren't humans, and milking isn't a criminal offense, and milking isn't the utmost example, you can still say milk is rape.

You're either being a smart alec or you're extremely dumb. Meat = murder, milk = rape. As in, squeezing a cow's udders is a forced sexual act, which is rape.

It's not on the same level, no. But just because the victims are so different from us doesn't change the fact that they are victims.

But I like meat... man, i like sex, but i don't rape. take not that which is not freely given. if an animal hands you a lump of it's flesh on a plate, go for it... but otherwise you're forcefully taking that which is not yours to take. (I know this isn't my argument, but I couldn't help myself. feel free to delete this shout)

Well actually you remind me of me when I first went veg - I still thought it was okay to eat organic meat. I just want to usher you onto the right path :P Though I suppose you'll get there yourself eventually anyway :D

lol think about it will you? You don't have to jump into it, took me 2 years to go vegan. But anything's a start. Even just reducing your meat intake.
