Haha, seemed a little out of the ordinary but I did not question. For the record, the album is solid.

I've had a casual listen, but on your advice, I'll devote some more time to it! Anything with the tag "well fuck" is clearly worth my time! As for recommendations, you have probably come to the right place. :p I was about to recommend Kasabian, but I see you've listened to a little already! Empire, Velociraptor! and West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum are all pretty great albums on the whole! I recommend "Empire", "Re-Wired" and "Fire" respectively in addition to what you've already got as a sample of each. The Stone Roses might also be your bag. The self-titled album is unquestionably the best, and also the most raw, though their discography isn't terribly long. Anything off it is pretty good Definitely have an interesting sound. Also, in shameless promotion of my own tastes that you might not like at all, Wolf Parade and Passion Pit. Can't get enough of either. :p

I would be pleased with both/either of these things, haha! Be glad to have someone of such esteemed musical taste as yourself!

Funny, I remember liking some of their first album's stuff but thought their sophomore LP was pretty bland (except apparently that song I mentioned, which I can't even recall off-hand, haha). But if y'want another band to obsess over, you'd like XTC -- they have that jangly pop sensibility that's right up your alley.

They have a similar rocking style, but Kyuss has more of a metal slant. Their first album's production values aren't that great, but Blues for the Red Sun and Sky Valley are both excellent riff monsters. Circus gets mixed reviews but it has some sweet tunes on it just the same. Either way, if you like QOTSA, you'll probably like their forebear.

They have two other studio albums: Adventure, the Marquee follow-up, and an eponymous in the 90s. I like Adventure more than Marquee on a song-by-song basis, so it's highly recommended. The eponymous wasn't that interesting from what I remember, but "Beauty Trip" is a swizz song from it. They have a few live albums too but since their repertoire is so small, they tend to have the same setlists, so...yeah. Live at the Old Waldorf is pretty awesome, though.
