Hello Yellow-Brick! We saw that you have a pretty good taste in music and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc_SKuEZm0o ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

Neither of those albums did much for me, unfortunately. Totally agreed on The National, you discover new aspects each time you listen to the albums. First time I listened to High Violet it didn't do much for me, didn't even notice Terrible Love. That changed quite a bit ;) Same with the new one, great stuff and the lyrics get me every time.

Wasn't too sure at first listen, but I tend to agree. It doesn't (IMO) contain songs that stand out as much as Terrible Love or Conversation 16, but it's a great, harmonious album. Don't know about you, but I'm not too fond of the releases so far this year. Glad The National came up with such a good one :)

Someone's a little obsessed over Regina atm, huh?! :) How's the new album, didn't get to listen to it yet.

Hi! No worries, it usually takes me quite some time, as well ;) Used to have "Birds" stuck on repeat, as well - such a sweet song, love the lyrics. For some reason, I missed out on "Nicest Thing" for quite a while, but now it's one of the most beautiful love songs to me :) Don't have those non-album tracks, not even sure I know them at all, what a pity! Noticed you've been listening to "Wish you were here" - such an amazing song, isn't it?

Totally agreed, her albums are quite different. I was pretty disappointed when first listening to "My best friend is you" because I got my expectations up way too high. Was totally addicted to "Made of Bricks" back then ;) It has grown on me since, though, especially "I just love you more". Didn't really notice "Later on" at first, another favourite of mine, as are "Don't you want to share the guilt" and - of course - "Do-Wa-Doh" :D Overall, "Birds", "We get on" and especially "Nicest Thing" are still my favs, though. "Nicest thing" is absolutely gorgeous, can't describe how much I love that song and its lyrics :) So, tell me: which are your favourite Kate songs? Really enjoyed reading your description of her music, btw. It's always great ot have musicians mean so much to you and have their songs tied closely to certain chapters of your life :)

Kate Nash: 1224 plays - niiice, why didn't I notice that til I just visited her profile page? Which album do you like better?

Haha, I was wondering whether I got my point clear while I typed it already ;) What I was trying to say is that the lyrics aren't beautiful (I love them, but the topic is rather sad) and The National's version reflects that. It's pretty raw and noisy (especially the album version), which fits the lyrics perfectly. Birdy's version, on the other hand, is really nice, which I love, but it doesn't fit the lyrics as well IMO. This wasn't meant as critique towards The National's "Terrible Love" at all, it's actually one of my absolute favourite songs :)

Exactly the same :) Like you wrote: it's the same song, but each version has its own atmosphere that makes it special. I'd say Birdy's version is really beautiful, while The National's isn't at all. I enjoy the original more, but both are great. She should do a cover of Conversation 16, as well. I'd love to hear that ;) People help the People, 1901 and Comforting Sounds are my other favourites from her album. Not so sure about Skinny Love, though - guess covering Bon Iver means crossing a line to me ;)

Totally agree. Love many of the originals, but she manages to put her own note to the songs. Which ones are your favourites? P.S.: Merry Christmas to you, as well :)

Let me guess: it was the Birdy comment that led you to my profile, right? Such a beautiful album :) Great taste, btw.
