  • My top ten most listened to artists in 2011 for overall song plays.

    1 jan. 2012, 21h56m

    1. Rammstein (881 plays)
    2. Judas Priest (859 plays)
    3. Lady Gaga (690 plays)
    4. Candlemass (540 plays)
    5. Black Sabbath (446 plays)
    6. The Black Ghosts (401 plays)
    7. King Crimson (382 plays)
    8. Gorillaz (334 plays)
    9. Pink Floyd (321 plays)
    10. Queen (305 plays)

I did this last year so I thought I'd do it again. Just looking at this list compared to last year, I've been listening to more modern artists this year and my music has been a lot more electronic. I'm a bit embarrassed to have so many Lady Gaga plays, but oh well. >_> Only albums I've listened to that came out last year are Lady Gaga's Born This Way (21 album plays) and The Black Ghosts' When Animals Stare (24 album plays). While I enjoyed both albums a lot, neither albums were amazing by any means but they're fun to listen to. Not sure what is my favorite artist I discovered this year, but Candlemass's debut album is amazing, most of Rammstein's discography is really strong, and Judas Priest made some pretty awesome albums.

One thing I find kind of funny is that 11th place goes to Naofumi Hataya (298 plays) and 12th goes to Masafumi Ogata (254 plays) all because of Sonic CD's soundtrack. The album is less than 80 minutes long yet it has 42 songs mostly by those 2 specific artists. Even though I've only listened to that album 15 times, I would have 552 plays for those artists if I combined both of their plays. For comparison, I have a total of 596 plays for Reverend Bizarre and if you were to count all the times I listened to an album by that artist, I would have 77 albums plays. Kind of funny how much overall song plays can poorly represent how much I listen to an artist, especially since all of the albums by Reverend Bizarre are over an hour long.

  • My top ten most listened to artists in 2010 for overall song plays.

    6 jan. 2011, 23h20m

    1. King Crimson (981 plays)
    2. Black Sabbath (848 plays)
    3. Neil Young (742 plays)
    4. Queen (531 plays)
    5. Yes (496 plays)
    6. Gorillaz (452 plays)
    7. Reverend Bizarre (442 plays)
    8. Jethro Tull (399 plays)
    9. Arthur Brown (307 plays)
    10. The Velvet Underground (300 plays)

Unfortunately, most of these bands have either disbanded, they're lacking people who were key members in past lineups, they barely tour at all, or they're way, way past their prime and now play a lot of music at shows that I flat out don't care for.

    1. King Crimson won't tour for a while but they have had many drastic lineup changes over the years with my two favorite lineups having no chance of ever getting back together. They rarely ever play their pre-'80s stuff except for 4 songs. :(
    2. Dio died last year, Tony Martin is almost guaranteed to never rejoin Black Sabbath, and Ozzy made it very clear that he has no interest in touring.
    3. Neil Young tours regularly but his concerts cost a fortunate. I think my aunt said she paid $200 to see him live earlier this year.
    4. Queen plans to announce some live plans but without Freddie Mercury, it isn't the same.
    5. Yes no longer has their original vocalist who has played on almost all of their albums plus their original drummer Bill Ward who's my favorite drummer ever is no longer in the band. He was also in King Crimson for a long time. ^_^
    6. Gorillaz is no where near as good live as they are in the studio and I don't care for a lot of their songs.
    7. Reverend Bizzare is dead and released their final album as "So Long Suckers" for a reason. >_>
    8. Jethro Tull is the only band on this list to have not lost one of their two most important members from any era of their band and they tour often. However, none of their concerts are anywhere close to here. <_<
    9. Arthur Brown still does some live stuff but he's no longer with his best lineups plus I don't think he tours in America anymore.
    10. The Velvet Underground died in the early '70s and is never coming back unless a miracle happens.

    Well, that was depressing. >_>

  • Two years of having an account.

    14 août 2010, 6h08m

11,008 plays and 941 loved tracks later, I'll probably continue using this site until either I die or the site gets shut down. I <3 this site and I find the statistics very interesting. If my stats ever get cleared, I'll rage to the extreme. >_> As for why I only have 15 plays a day on average, it's because of my ear moisture problem. Before listening to music, I usually blow my nose and clean my ears for 10-15 minutes. It's fucking annoying as hell and I would definitely have twice as many scrobbles if I didn't have this problem. Oh well. <_< Edit: It was August 13th, 2010 in PST when I made this journal, not the 14th.

1,000 views as of June 27th, 2009? Awesome. Too bad I didn't know about the flag counter until late March. <_< Oh well.

As you might have noticed, my account pretty much died a few months ago. The reason for this was due to horrible ear problems. Now that those problems are mostly resolved, expect my account to go up in plays by a lot. >_>

  • Hello all.

    13 août 2008, 9h58m

I finally created a Last.fm account. When it comes to songs I've listened to, I'm starting completely from scratch on Last.fm. If anyone if wondering about the cat in my avatar, that's my mom's cat. His name is Shelby. The reason why his name is Shelby is because my mom originally thought he was a girl cat. >_> Shelby can be a male name in Europe so w/e. In case I ever change my avatar, you can view my current avatar right here. That is all.
