Grand Battle Of The Classic Rock Artists, Round Six (Final Round)

3 jan. 2007, 12h18m

Well guys, it's finally here. The moment you've all been waiting for. The two final artists going face to face. It's been a good run, with many of the best bands of all time eliminated.

It is down to one final match. Prepare to vote one final time on the people you voted to get here...

Queen vs The Beatles

Truly two of, if not THE greatest artists of all time.

Choose wisely, because your vote may decide the very fate of this elections outcome. Good luck to both artists, and may the best 4 man band win..

I'm voting for Queen.

Not that I expect it to make a difference in this thread, but I vote for The Beatles. Queen is an artist worthy of mention but there is pure and simple no comparison with The Beatles BECAUSE The Beatles are plain and simply the single most influential artist in classic rock. Without The Beatles there would be no Queen...or Pink Floyd...or Led Zeppelin ...etc. The Beatles redefined rock as we all know it. They are not my favorite artist but how can I not vote for them. I guess I see this Grand Battle as a verification of status rather than a popularity contest. :)

That's true, Queen looked up to The Beatles more than anybody. But Queen's music is just better, so I'm a go with them.

music would not be the same as it is today without sgt. peppers or revolver, so obviously I'm going with the Beatles

What can I say? The Beatles were in many ways the fathers of rock, but hey - they had their idols too. If we look at the matter that way, the greatest rock artist would certainly be the first caveman to produce musical sounds ;> (not that I believe a comparison between the caveman and the Liverpool quartet is anywhere near being valid or justified) In other words - Queen (btw, I'd rather see a different final pair; any two bands from this pool: Led Zep, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Queen, King Crimson - have they been in the competition at all? - and maybe The Rolling Stones)

The Beatles are most undoubtedly going to win, it's expected, but I'm glad to see Queen made it to the final round. :)
