Tastestory I МОДНИЦА

Life is so complex so we never know exactly why this or that is happening now or took place hundred years ago. There are many factors that affect your vision of factors that affects you (yea, recursion) and your opinion, behaviour, tastes. We all have made these strange, indirect steps to who-we-are-now state. Because life is complex, and really fascinating.
Where was I. I can't say I'm such a person who can't get strong inspiration, emotional stress out of nothing but melodies, and bcause of that my musical taste is developing slowly. It hasn't even formed yet. But to this moment I've already tried so many different music stuff so I just start to forget where it all begins and old music cedes its place in my memory to new one. That's one of the reasons why I'm writing this. I want to recollect all my past music expirience that values. I wonder - what is my music taste? What common features has the music I've ever heard, and has it? When did I start to feel music like I'm doing now?
Umm, I think you, traveller, won't find anything interesting here.

Note: I don't remember that I used to listen whole albums or exact artist or genre. It always was ocassional one-two 'hits' from popular singers.

I МОДНИЦА
STAGE1: ДУХ ВРЕМЕНИ, or MAINSTREAM
~2000 to 2003~
http://i69.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0614/14/3262a7497a65d2294efac4702a403914.pnghttp://i70.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0614/eb/71d95cb08afd279d85266c836f1143eb.jpghttp://i70.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0614/9d/85b17b69206c6614cc26d28f93ab219d.jpg
1st music experience I received and liked due to CD-R disk with russian pop music.
TODAY: Nice female voices, poorly designed BGM, silly (but not always) lyrics. The fav.song of this time – "Мелом" by Пропаганда. I also hear hip-hop moments. Huh, there are some existential motives in it!

PAST:The whole music picture is silly, but it was a great fun to sing these songs (simple text and you don't need any skill), and "Мелом" used to make me feel a bit sad.

I caught a glimpse of furious mad 90s pop-music too. Hip-hop moments.
There were also disks with music clips of American, European musicmakers.
Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
Doctor Jones – AQUA
One day my parents bought DVD player, and we tried to sing karaoke. There was one disk with Russian and Ukrainian folk songs like Ти ж мене пiдманула, Виновата ли я.

That's how it started. Barely see anything useful. Let’s continue.

STAGE2: PINKY. FEMALE. TEEN.
2003 to 2008
Absolutely nothing about first 4-years-of-schooling music taste.
Then! My friendship with one classmate and rocky-things mania started. Two big favourites of the time –
Avril LavigneBest Damn Thing (2007)
http://i72.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0621/e4/b785edd9d12ba322da4e08aa04141ae4.png
PAST: loved the whole album; so energetic, lively, cheeky. I still keep this feeling – young and strong YOU just running through all those city bariers (influence of a parkour wave was spreading back then).
TODAY: Mastering is far from perfect, lyrics just suck, but the whole thing I still like – good emotional vocal, fine teen-rock. Hip-hop moments.
Hot - Avril Lavigne
When You’re Gone - Avril Lavigne

http://i72.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0621/b7/1b6c51740e6ecd99bfcd2efcf8417fb7.jpg
– same-titled serial was launched on TV. I loved it. It was a very good turn to give life to music, to show how it was created, what things might inspire the creators. Serial made the music alive. Music clips then started to work the same way. Mb, it was the first my experience of ATMOSPHERE behind the music itself. From this moment it is important what the music symbolizes, from which angle I should look (actually listen to) on it.
PAST: Lyrics are about love and nothing else. I liked it, there was my first-love period by the time. I used to sing their songs while washing the dishes. I had their CD and the poster! My friend and I recorded covers on their songs with her mobile phone. True fans.
Don’t like front vocal, too much ‘a-a’. Bit energetic, nice vocal turns, mastering's fine, even some synt-effects appeared.
From the same serial – another female vocal band. Original lyrics, and endless sadness.

I don’t remember from which moment I started to buy ‘Все звезды’ (tabloid about celebs containing A4-posters) and watch regualry MuzTV. I remember the time when every new so-called hit – from Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Britney Spears –couldn’t possibly pass me by. I liked it, but not for a long period.
<HIP HOP moments almost in everything I've listened to! And music contains many of different music styles' strains.
But vulgar ‘Gimme more’ still plays in my mind sometimes (guilty pleasure). The voice is so sexy.

I tried Russian rap. Каста (or Баста, never mind), Тимоти, Центр, Доминик Джокер and some less popular artists I didn’t remember. It followed me everyday everywhere, no chance to escape. After Japanese hip-hop and German jazz-hop those guys looks so pitiful.

STAGE3: GOOOORE
2008 to 2010
Then something’s changed. I was no longer interested in soft pinky music with female voices I could hear in every bus and shop. I wanted sadness, and gore, and pain. Yea, the new-emo-wave reached our coast.
I’ve never been included in the subculture, but tried, barely. I liked doom-things, goth subculture before the wave came, because of two goth presented in my town, and they looked wonderful. And there was personal sad-time because of family disaster.
Only one goth-associated stuff I can recollect. That was another TV influence – Шмели (whoa, they made industrial!).
From this moment we can see radical turn to male vocal. There were almost no female in my playlist anymore.

So alternative rock took it place. Some remarkables:
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight (2007)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQ
PAST:I liked the energy, again. Their songs that you may scream out and let away your energy, and sad-songs you may cry out (ofc silently, at home).
‘Given up’ is pretty heavy. Was one of my favs.
TODAY:RAPCORE! Solo guitars part and synt-parts are impressive, mastering is pretty good, and I do like vocal, but it seems similar – Valent’day, Shadow - all the same and bored me soon. Like almost every –metal and some of -rock things did. And the rapper is Mike Shinoda, a Japanese-American! Lyrics seems good now, when I can understand it.

Panik (ex Nevada Tan) - Revolution, Vorbei, Neustart
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT2qpGJzDoU
German rapcore! FUCK, how epic is deutsche sprache! I remember how deep I liked this front rapper voice and the language. The energy just overfills and blows the whole thing up. Small pitiful Avril smokes nervously in the corner – here comes the male strength and aggression.
Music seems ordinary alt-rock – massive, noisy and empty. But the rapcore part is just awesome. And the rapper, and the masked DJ^^

Some popular nu-metal bands here:
Twisted Transistor - Korn
Before I Forget - Slipknot
Remember - Disturbed
Noisy, similiar, boring.

Besides we have some emo-wave influence from Germany.
Tokio Hotel - Zimmer 483 (2008) + Schrei (2006)
http://cs10068.vk.me/g24818801/a_85a17037.jpg
Yea, there was such period of time when I listen to them. Fine teen rock, vocal sounds bit childish. I heard only German version (and back then my English was very poor), so I didn’t get the main idea. But caught the sad atmosphere.
Lovesongs (They Kill Me) - Cinema Bizzare. Now, after I’ve met Japanese visual kei, CB appeared to be silly freaks. Still, frontman feminine vocal is pretty good. I remember – this song came from TV too. I heard only one their song, but remembered.
Zusammen - Laffe. Pretty, easy, sad. German vocal on the foreground – auto-like.

Emo-wave from all over the world
Bullet for My Valentine - All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me), Hand of Blood
Heavy sound and wicked aggressive front vocal. I started to fall in the dark-dark hole where you have not energy for scream out – you just hold this weight, hold, hold, and finally get depressed. Hatred goes wide steps.
Still, solo guitar parts sounds impressive.

Here Russians come. Emotional, depressive, melodic. No commento des.
Jain Air
Stigmata
Lumen

This depressive part of my music taste development remarkably match with the final act of the family disaster. Hard times.
I was listening to it for a significantly long time period. There were some enlightenments – Papa Roach, Alkaline Trio, The Vines (Thank you, FlatOut2). And pretty sad and depressive Placebo songs.

That was the last blink of the fallen world. Our Father let us fly away.
