Ah, Husker Du, known a handle of songs for years but never really listened to them. On the hit-list though...have listened to Zen Arcade once through so far and know it deserves more attention.

Great tracks you've liked! I'll have to check some of them out. The ones I don't know I mean.

Thanks, though I only see about 1/4 of them. It's more of a "I might go to this show" schedule I can keep track of. Will definitely be at Rasputina in Austin in November.

You didn,t see U2 at The NEC Birmingham during The Joshua Tree tour did you because I was at that gig as well lol, yeah I remember The Edge kicking the rugby ball into the crowd but not I Will Follow being the second song they played. The Wembley Stadium was great as well though,my cousin who I went to The Arms Park gig with (and I still go to the vast majority of all my gigs with)came down separately from the rest of us and i met him at the back of the stadium with a beer and a spliff just as The Pogues played The Irish Rover and Wembley erupted and we went mad, great times lol

I think so mate,I,d already seen U2 at Wembley Stadium earlier and was desperate to see them again so me and my cousin got tickets for The Arms Park gig,for most of the day we sat in our seats right at the top of the left hand side stand but snook onto to the floor to watch U2,it was at that gig I first heard of The Silencers and thought they were brilliant and followed their music avidly from then on.The only downer was there were no trains back into England after 10.30p.m. and so had to kip on the station floor for the night and it was bloody cold and uncomfortable,we never got back to Stafford until dinner time the next day and were absolutely knackered, great times and memories though lol.A pattern seems to be developing here mate and I,m wondering just how many other gigs we,ve both been to at the same time but it just goes to prove what great taste we both have lol,

Hello! I usually order from Star500.com, but they only ship within the US. :( They have one XL Husker Du shirt left, it's kinda meh IMO. But if you'd like it let me know, I can buy it and ship it to you. Maybe do some kind of exchange through PayPal.

Hi Howard there,s no need to apologize for not getting back in touch sooner mate. The place where V is held in Staffordshire is called Weston Park and if you saw Human League there we were both at the same gig.I don,t come fron Birmingham mate i live in Stafford which is about 30 miles north of Brum bang inbetween Wolverhampton and Stoke-On-Trent but the vast majority of gigs i go to are in Brum, over the last few years some great new venues have opened up there and I watch all of the young Indie bands I,ve got into there,I,m sorry to hear not too many bands play in Cardiff that,s a bit of a downer mate, but I,ll always have a soft spot for Cardiff and the old Arms Park Stadium as I saw U2 there in 1987 during the Joshua Tree Tour.

I noticed you mentioned peaceful intentions. To all it is so, individuals, communities, families, relationships. My four favorite things in life are to make a person smile, dry a tear, fill a belly, and put a roof over a head; but I am an antiestablishmentarian. I detest authority. Here in America my family killed the British to have a government which represented them. Well, TODAY I AM READY TO KILL DOMESTIC ENEMIES TO OUR Constitution. COPS, JUDGES, LAWYERS, BANKERS, AND ABORTIONISTS. I am ready to go to war and shed blood as my family did historically. I will no longer tolerate those who place economy above community, those who place law above morality, those who service corporations rather than individuals, and those who have traded their liberty for safety!!!! May His kingdom come, and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven........in Heaven, they do NOT coexist with EVIL!

It is amazing to me how folks separated in time, space, and culture can still have their souls touched and unified by music. Wonderful harmonic expressions of deep desires and yearnings which are so universal. I enjoy the tunes you listen to.

Re your post on Human Leagues Sound Of the Crowd....I also saw them at V (I go to Weston Park every year),my mates dragged me into the tent to watch them as I,ve never been a big fan of them, well they blew me away it was one of the highlights of the weekend I,ll never forget the whole crowd singing at the top of their voices as they left the tent at the end of the gig it was a great moment for me.

À propos de moi

Hello music patrons, lovers, geeks, desperados and grebos.

What a great site ! I've found a few new artists I now love, and am enjoying returning to old friends from the early 80's. Whatever it was called, New Wave, Post-Punk, what a fucking great period for sound and energy !!

I’m a fan of most genres, but tend to listen to indie/punk/alternative/Americana/electronica/rock/folk the most. I really like singers, artists with a unique voice such as Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Van Morrison, Elvis and Joni Mitchell, for instance. ''Sometimes, it's the singer not the song which makes the music move along'' - cyber points for anyone who knows the writer !?! lol

Salute ! :)
