I agree that it has some flaws. Rococo, Empty Room and Wasted Hours are my least favourites, but it depends on preferences though. Even though I think Month of May is one of the weaker tracks I find it very enjoyable now. I also think that it is pretty hard to live up to the expectations when you released such an great and critically acclaimed album like Funeral. And they probably will never have a better album than this. With The National the thing is, I like their music very much, but it still hasn't clicked with me yet. I'm sure it will change when I've seen them live. :)
Yeah, I know, it's weird, but it hasn't been the first time that people who have the most similar taste are not even neighbours. Why are you disappointed in The Suburbs? Do you think it is inconsistent or because it has not that epic sound like Funeral (which I knew that it won't be beaten) or even Neon Bible? High Violet is a great album though and in my opinion it is one of the candidates for album of the year along with Teen Dream and The Suburbs.
