À propos de moi

I used to be a student at Purdue University, now I'm not. I wasn't able to afford going there anymore, so I have to go elsewhere. IUPUI is the place. I hate myself.

I live in the USA, in a little town in Indiana called Paragon, and I think it's nice. Specifically, I think the location is nice. The people on the other hand can go to hell. Except for some of the middle-aged people that work at the gas stations; they're decent usually.

I took four years of Spanish in high school, and I think I still have a decent grasp on the grammar--that's always the easy part for me. It's the vocabulary that I can't retain all that well. At various times throughout college, I have taken at least one class in:

  • Arabic*
  • Italian
  • German
  • Japanese

*Arabic was during some rough times, so....I didn't exactly stay diligent to the course.

I am very interested in learning more Japanese...but I don't know if I will take any courses at IUPUI. I don't enjoy the classroom environment all that much. Let's see me try some Japanese out....ahem.......

I dunno. That's probably incorrect somehow. If you know Japanese, don't hesitate to berate me if my Japanese is wrong.

Getting back to high school, I was in the marching, concert and jazz bands. Most of my memories from them are pretty good. Most, but certainly not all.

Anyway, there were a few songs I played in band that I liked a lot and still listen to today, such as:

My all-time favorite cartoon would probably be The Super Mario Bros. Super Show. I loved Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells and those live segments. Many people do I'm sure; however, I also loved the animated portion, even to this day. It seems to garner quite a bit of negativity, such as when the Nostalgia Critic ranted about it in this video. I have at least some fondness for all the Mario cartoons, even the ones based on Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3. I also like The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, which the Nostalgia Critic also hated. At least I can get a good laugh while he besmirches the names of my beloved shows.

Speaking of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show:

Above picture is from my favorite live-action skit,
"All Steamed Up." It can be watched here.
Alternatively, watch here for better quality, but this links to the whole episode (skit+cartoon). The skit starts after the opening intro in this link, but after it cuts to the cartoon, you must skip to 17:18.

Why did he have to pass away during the Year of Luigi, of all years??

Speaking of cartoons, I also like that My Little Pony show. Considering all the music that's been made, I may as well mention my favorite songs from the show as well as my favorite songs made by the show's fans. First, the fan music:

And as for the show's songs (that have lyrics), all of which are by Daniel Ingram:

Much of the music I enjoy the most comes from video games. My favorite artists of video game music (that I can think of right now) and my favorite track by each one are:

My favorite non-video-game artist is Philip Glass. Other top artists of mine include Tears for Fears, Beastie Boys, Nightwish and "Weird Al" Yankovic to name a few. Many songs are on an mp3 player and thus aren't scrobbled here, nor have I put them on my computer and scrobbled them using Windows Media Player or what have you.
I don't know.
I just don't care.

I like football. American football that is. I root for the Detroit Lions.

I like scary things, including creepypasta. "Majora" is my favorite creepypasta story that I've encountered thus far (don't worry, that link IS safe, Last.fm's just being a dildo). I also love it when I have a frightening nightmare, or just one that defies explanation and is very weird. It's not that fun during the nightmare, of course.

Top five video games of all time for me. For ME I said. I don't care what YOU like. Don't tell me why Oca-fucking-rina of Fucking Time should be above Donkey Kong 64. If you are even thinking about telling me that or something similar, go ahead and assume my response will be "Shut the hell up. Go fuck an ocarina, since you seem to love them so much." Also, I'll give my favorite song from/related to the game, so it can either be from the soundtrack or someone's remix of a song from the soundtrack.

I also have very fond memories of the following PC real-time strategy games:

  • Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings + The Conquerors expansion
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge expansion

I didn't feel quite the same way with Red Alert 3, although it was funny seeing Tim Curry in the cut scenes for the Soviets.

I think the Frenchies at Ubisoft are annoying.

Well, time to hang myself.

Goodbye everyone.
