It's destiny haha ! An other (little) coincidence: Zorn will make a show/concert (for his 60 years) with Patton, Medeski, Ribot...and more collaborative musicians... And it will be in my country ! *_*

Look forward to hearing what they come out with in October then! I've not really listened to Taint, on my to do list. Musical recommendations? I inevitably will get it completely wrong and totally misjudge people's tastes. Erm.... Hang the Bastard worth a go (i know some people have a grudge against hardcore, but this lot have so many amazing riffs) and Curse the Son. My knowledge of music is pretty much zero, so won't make any comparisons to describe them.

You're very articulate when it comes to music. I just listen to what I like and can't often explain why I like it. I wasn't even aware of my preference between the Down albums to be honest. I remember when I first heard Over the Under I really didn't like it, but the more I listened the more I liked (for some reason His Magesty the Deser really gets me going in particular). Bustle is prob my favorite album as a whole though, right from Lysergik Funeral Procession it's just so.... hefty. Their music really just prompts emotions for me, and that's why I like them. Definitely set me on the track towards heavier/doom/slude music. Sadly I didn't get to go to Clutch, I expressed an interest but couldn't get a ticket. Shame as Hark were supporting and what I've heard of them I liked.

Agreed. I don't blame the band, it just ruined the effect of the gig for me. In this case it was men 35+ years? Just thought they should know better. Never mind, just one persons experience, sure plenty of people went and found it to be excellent . You have rather epic music tastes.

The band were pretty good, but the crowd really killed it for me. Had orange goblin (who were excellent) and War Beast supporting, but Phil was sitting at the back watching them play. The pantera fanboys in the audience were constantly trying to get his attention, totally disrespecting the bands playing, then they totally lost their shit when Down came on. Felt like it was more about seeing Anselmo than the appreciating the music. Not really the bands fault.

That's a shame. However, if it makes you feel any better (probably makes me just sound ungrateful though) the last Down gig I went to wasn't great.

I definitely did things in reverse to the typical i think. Only really gave Pantera a listen after I got into Down :D I really liked their latest release actually.....misfortune teller is an especially good tune. Did you get to see them on their latest tour?

oh no sorry haha it's not an album, i was trying to describe the vibe i get from them, like they're just trying to be offensive and get people to pay attention to them.

yeah i hear that. never got into pig destroyer, agoraphobic nosebleed's "we're so offensive pay attention to us" was enough for me to avoid them and related bands
