I've never really listened to Vinnie Paz or JMT...I guess I always thought their lyrics were too violent and shit. But I listened to that song Trail of Lies and I really freakin like it and the lyrics are dope so I don't know what I was also trippin on. Maybe its just cuz Vinnie Paz's voice sounds all harcore lol. I should explore more of their stuff. And your right that sample is sicc.

The new Roots is fire! I'm loving the samples they used and the over all message is ill. But you already know, cuz it is The Roots after all ;-). I think when it comes to Chali 2na I prefer him when he is doin tracks with J5 or when he is featured on other peoples tracks. He has some quality stuff on his own but I don't usually listen to his solo stuff. Fish Market 2 totally has the mixtape vibe. But I really like the track 'Across the Map' that he did w/J-Live and this song 'Funky for You' that features X-Clan.

oooo I see someone bumpin that DJ Quik! Always a good choice. As for that new Chali 2na, I thought it was a mixed bag. It was like the tracks that were good were really good and the songs that were bad, I never wanna hear again in my life lol. I think the main problem is that it's way too long, he could of cut half the tracks on there and had a really solid offering. With all that said tho I still think its worth checking if you are already into his stuff. I think there will be things on there that you will dig.

I believe that Tunji is working on an EP and a mixtape....I'm not certain about that though... Evolutionary will hopefully be available in all mediums...I'll have to finish it before I know more about that. We never pressed up any physical copies of So True's only available on itunes and amazon in digital form. We just pressed up CDs for So Far.....thank you for supporting...and try to spread the word about Evolutionary!

nah definitely i agree with you on the reflection eternal. but black star was my first "hip-hop" record, so i always go back to it. and Phil Ade? he's an artist from DMV like Wale, but i think he's much better. and all he has is a mixtape haha. i think he raps better and he can sing hella well. download his mixtape "Starting on JV" best mixtape i've ever heard. or in the top 3. serious

oh i really liked the new danger actually. he can pull of a lot of styles, at least to me, so i find it pretty amazing. and reflection eternal is hella dope. train of thought is one of the best jazz hop albums i have. even though their new album is less jazzy, the production is still top notch.
