Cool! Oh, I've heard about that, haven't watched it though. Thinking about watching it just because she's in it, haha!

Yeah, they really are, I've only been listening to them for about a year now. I found out about them in a Devin Townsend interview, haha. Haha, it's H.G. Wells from Warehouse 13, soo Jamie Murray :)

Sounds like an upgraded version of Axioma... to me, with more clean vocals and prog patterns, but it flows in a fantastic, even addictive way. An absolute masterpiece in my books. Didn't like Katatonia but that's never been *my* band, so it was expected... as for Kamelot, the sampler sounds really promising, same goes for the tracklist and all that. You can imagine that it's my most anticipated release right now, haha.

Hey you! :) The Foreshadowing is on the very same godlike level as expected, one of the 2-3 best records of 2012 so far. Ground Zero is a fantastic single (if it was an actual single, I don't remember...) and it has the catchiest chorus melody while the other songs are much more challenging. You know, whole last weekend I watched videos that had to do with Hiroshima on every level, from the shameful historical act itself and everything that led to it, to interviews with the few living survivors, scientific/photo data that finally made its way to the surface just now after being kept a military secret and all that, and the melodies/lyrics of Second World (especially Ground Zero despite its concept, plus Havoc) were constantly on my mind. You need to hear it to believe it. Thanks for the link, btw, that song is damn mighty and oppressing... a down-tuned Deathspell Omega mixed with almost funeral doom elements came to mind, so I'll be sure to check on the album.

Yeah, found JT not to long after he released Dreamer's Paradox. He's a really fantastic songwriter and incredible musician. Not to mention amazing at pretty much everything else he does in other mediums. Watch his short films too :)

Yeah, people are often amazed by "Survivors Sleep" because of the same somber atmosphere you mentioned. My sole champions of both records so far are always the very first songs, "Cold Waste" and "The Dawning", but it's also true that I cannot detect any flaws in the rest of the material, no matter how hard I try. And I can honestly say that Marco has become a special vocalist for me, maybe the one who has his influence on my mental "well being" at most. Both albums horrify my, especially "Oionos" and I can't remember the last time when I've been so engulfed by reflections, impressions and the suicidal feeling of the inevitable end itself. While there are so many damn awesome releases out there, most of them always remain just "great albums" or even "masterpieces", but this is an art in its darkest and most dreadful high form. If the apocalypse really sounds even halfway that beautiful though, I'd gladly take a part in it, then let come what may.

And here I thought their popularity is spreading on its own :D Marco has such a unique voice, I can't even think of anyone with a similar style to that one of his thrilling voice. New WT is absolutely gorgeous to me, if you want to compare it to the previous two... well, it has nothing in common, haha :D It's just that once again they released something utterly different. It's probably their most bombastic and diverse record to date, consists of lots of sympho-rock hits mixed with... huh, dance, alternative, hard rock, metal <you name it> elements but at the same time hints to some old classics of the '80s. So yeah, I'd recommend it highly. Click here, here, or even here and here. Bah, just hear the entire album! :D

Nice to see The Foreshadowing on the run here. What's up with you? Anything interesting there? What did you like of the latest releases? Currently WT, Rhapsody, SepticFlesh and Amorphis hold the front line for me (in no particular order), I guess.

I agree. They could've merged "All Is Over" and "Dissection" - at least that's what I also thought before, but then I fell in love with the ending. "Dissection" is Oliver's first sole offspring, so I don't mind :) And it kindda feels complete with all that prog playstyle there, dunno. "My Train of Thoughts" was (again) one of the songs I overlooked from the start, then suddenly I got hit by the very same train. Don't know if you've noticed, but the tempo, riffs, chorus, verses - everything is made to sound as a high-speed locomotive, damn illusion. They used the same method in "The Human Stain" where the entire composition blended and developed in unison with the tick-tacking of the pendulum, even from the very start. Darker? Hell yeah, and sometimes I'm simply washed away just as I was in TBH/Epica, even some striking Karma hints. Definately AOTY - I'm waiting for Evergrey, Star One, Cradle (Moonspell won't make it), but I don't think PftP will be threatened by anything.

À propos de moi

I live in San Francisco and I like metal, goth rock and stuff. I sing bad death metal vocals and rip off Depeche Mode. I have more books than I can read and keep getting more. Talk to me. I'm kind of interesting, I guess.
