I saw "Porcupine Tree" and "Steven Wilson" and was like yeah, okay, makes sense. Then I saw "Mountain Goats" and "Tim Minchin", which made me happy and also made me think that you're awesome. And then I saw "Chameleon Circuit" and just fell off my chair. My hat off to you, good sir, for your amazing taste!

No worries dude, I've got plenty of recommendations up my sleeve, so if you want more, leave me a shout. Yeah, here comes the Kraken are pretty intense. I'm working on a drum cover of that song :P

By the way, what did you think of Here Comes The Kraken? XD

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

Ah, that's awesome dude. If you want help with the soundtrack, let me know, I'd be happy to make some game music :P I was actually looking for a place to write some electronic, somewhat Schiller like music anyway, except maybe a little more intense. Even if you're using an engine and scripts, that's still pretty damn impressive. Are you doing all the graphics work yourself?

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

Yo, you should check out the forced listening thread in Openmided metalheads XD By the way, if you've started on vagabond, how's that going? Also, I've been so busy, I haven't really had a chance do do any songwriting :/ I'll get a move on that soon though, so we can get the collaboration in motion. I have lyrics already, but no music as of yet.

It's won a whole bunch of awards. Just stick with it, it gets better as you go along.

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

By the way, if you like Ruroni Kenshin, You may like Vagabond (the manga). Although it's much more violent and it's a bit confusing at first, it's a phenomenal manga with great art, and some great psychological themes, and some pretty intense action. Also, for Anime, you may like the movie, Sword of The Stranger, I'm pretty sure you can find a dubbed version on Dubbinz.

ah, fair enough. You don't use composition software like guitar pro or finale though correct? No worries, the keyboard is pretty much the same for me. I used to play more actively, then I stopped and moved onto drums, and now I'm getting back into it. That's actually pretty much how I write as well, but I'm starting to compose more solid and less improvised pieces as well, it all depends on the day really. Yeah, I'm going to see Katatonia as well. I'm most excited about Katatonia, but Swallow the sun and Orphaned land are great bands too. I actually saw orphaned land live once before, they played a show with SuidAkrA, and they certainly don't disappoint live. Yeah, if you'd let me know how it was, that would be great, and if you get some sense of a setlist, that would be awesome too, so I know what to expect :D thanks a ton dude. I'll shoot you an email when I have more stiff written, as I just finished writing a song for another collaborator. I have some cool ideas though

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

Awesome, thanks dude. PM me with your email and I'll shoot some ideas your way. Do you use software to compose, or do you do it on paper?

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

Awesome, thanks dude. It'll probably be similar to the stuff you saw on my YouTube, just with vocals. I'll let you know when I've got some of the stuff I'm gonna track vocals to recorded, it'll be a little while though, as I don't have access to my gear right now. I expect I will around the 1st or 2nd, and I'll do some tracking. If you want to do some guitar work too, that's fine, as guitar is one thing I cannot do for the life of me.

    août 2010
  • frequency666hz

ah, fair enough. Awesome, if you're interested, you can do vocals on one of the songs for my solo project, as decent singers tend to be rather hard to come by. Cool dude, being in a band is lots of fun... unless somebody wants to do something the rest of the band doesn't want them to, then things get complicated :P I'm a fan of melodic death myself, I jam along to bands like amon amarth, eluveitie, and opeth when I'm drumming usually. If I'm feeling adventurous, I might try something a little more technical, like textures, or here comes the kraken. Awesome, thanks dude :D Also, thanks for subscribing, I added you as a friend on youtube as well.

  • frequency666hz

No? all it takes is practice my friend. Pick up some drawing books. If you're looking to draw Manga, Christopher Hart's books are like religious Icons. I used to be into drawing a fair bit, although it took hours to get anything that was even slightly decent, so I kinda gave up. You write music? What Instrument do you play? or do you just write? I am a drummer, but I also play keyboard and cello. I see you followed a link to my channel :P Thanks dude, I'm glad you liked it :D That's my solo project. I'm in the process of doing a full length concept album with guest singers, guitarists and other Keyboard players. I do have a few bands actually, there's my solo project, a rock band, and a progressive death metal band. Although I've done some recording with the rock band, we haven't gotten any of it mastered, so it still sounds raw, and hasn't been mixed. You can find that band on facebook. The metal band doesn't have a website, yet. We are working on a concept album though...

  • frequency666hz

You'll find a lack of mainstream pop in my charts though, that is something that just doesn't appeal to me. I was wondering if it was from Ruroni Kenshin. Did you draw it?

Oh no! Not another poor soul claimed by the clutches of WoW! Lol, that's cool, I've a lot of friends who play WoW religiously, you may even know or have heard of some of them, but I've never asked for their handles. You can always ebay or hit up Amazon for Sakuraba's tracks.

My Motoi Sakuraba music? I own the OST's to Star Ocean 1 & 2 but I also hit up bit torrent for a discography of top video game music from 2006 & 2007, in which Sakuraba had many entries.

hey,i've just said that (about black metal) in "answer with a song" discussion :-D so, yes, i know, and i'm about to get some SOON :-) ..and uhh..nickelback..i've listened to it about 3 years ago i guess, and i've deleted it except for some singles that seem listenable to me..so once i set random in winamp, it's possible that it (and other shitty ones) pop up :-D btw, thanks for the recommendation,it sounds great (though it seemed to me as death a lot :-))

Just listen to the song "The Host of Seraphim" and I'm sure you'll be stuck again :). That song is actually used in the ending for the movie "The Mist". Dunno if you've seen it, but I doubt that the ending scene would've been as powerful as it is if it weren't for the song. Anyway thanks for recommending Martyr. I liked the song Virtual Emotion in particular.

Really, you hate Family Guy? South Park rags on Family Guy in some episodes. I find South Park to be great at using satire and burlesque of topical material, while Family Guy is best at deadpan, observational and fantasy (the hypothetical short scenes South Park rebukes). I like them both, including Futurama and The Simpsons. I also have a thing for the classics: Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry; and more contemporary series: Animaniacs, Hysteria, etc... I grew up on all that stuff :) Oh, and I can't forget Metalocalypse, although the series does lack the finesse and elegance of the ones I mentioned before it.
