Man only halfway into 2006 and already heaps of quality hip hop releases, so i'll list the best of the year thus far...

Bronze Nazareth- The Great Migration

A Wu-Affiliate album, This guy can really spit!
The production on the album is top notch, great album.

DJ Drama & Lil Wayne- Dedication 2

Yeah it's just a mixtape, but this a really really good one.
One of the things i like about Lil Wanye is how he is always showing improvement, well even since The Carter II last year.
He seems to have gotten better since then :o and it really shows on here, carter III should be amazing :o

J Dilla- Donuts

Amazing musical experience, J Dilla made the album in 3 days on his death-bed...:( He had total dedication to his music.
It's just a great album to chill out too, J Dilla is a genius R.I.P.

Delta- The Lostralian

Since i'm Australian, i thought i'd look into this Australian hip hop album, Delta is a new Aussie artist who is really quite good, this is probably the best Australian hip hop record i've heard, it's production is pretty good and it features a guest apperance from Murs on one song :o

The Coup- Pick a Bigger Weapon

Awesome unique album, The Coup have always been known for political rap with funky west-coast production, and they are usually pretty funny as well. Don't sleep on this :o

Ghostface- Fishscale

Quality album from Ghostface, Alot of variety on here from the catchy type songs ("back like that") too songs like ("underwater") highly recomended!

Busta Rhymes- The Big Bang

Busta is back! A overall fun album to listen too...
Guest apparenaces from (Raekwon, Q-Tip, Nas, Stevie Wonder, etc.) probably one of my favourite mainstream releases in awhile.

other albums

Vakill- Worst Fears Confirmed
Cunninlynguists- A Piece of Strange
J Dilla- The Shining
Tha Dogg Pound- Cali Iz Active
Mr. Nogatco- Nogatco Rd.
Apathy- Eastern Philosophy
DJ Drama & Little Brother- Seperate But Equal
Army of the Pharoahes- The Torture Papers
Murs- Muarrys Law
T.I.- King
Boot Camp Clik- The Last Stand

With still more highly anticipated albums on the way

Nas- Hip Hop is Dead
Raekwon- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2
Method Man- 4:21 the day after
Lupe Fiasco- Food & Liquor
The Game- Doctors Advocate
Common- Finding Forever
Joe Budden- The Growth
The Roots- Game Theory (the advance owns hard!!!!)

yea hip hop owns.

I'd say the production is pretty similar to that on Steal this Album G-Funk kinda stuff... so it's not like totally different. So if you liked that album you'll no doubt like this :)
