I can perhaps do better than that, maybe we can swap mixtapes (if you're planning on taking part in that)? I'm pretty excited to see Neurosis again, as well as Melt-Banana, Future of the Left and The Ex. Really looking forward to Mono, RED FANG(!) and Mission of Burma too as haven't seen them before. From the others Gay Witch Abortion and Arcwelder sound like they will be a blast, and Rachel Grimes sounds just lovely. Man, it is actually a pretty fucking good line-up isn't it?! How about you, who are you looking forward to seeing most?

Yeah definitely lost a point or two there in an otherwise amazing interview, maybe it's the American left in him! In the context of the question and answer though, fair enough he's on about comedy that subverts the mainstream to some degree, being on a major channel, so maybe i'll let it slide, i'll have a word with him next time I see him! x

I sure am up for that! And a storm of light seem to be playing Glasgow on the 25th, you know for sure? They're playing Islington on the 28th though, was gonna go to that.

Looks intense. I've been trying to find the deluxe Crack The Skye but I think it's sold out everywhere, balls! http://www.metalinjection.net/concert-recap/concert-recap-mastodon-kylesa-intronaut-heavy-sweet-riffage-light-commentary Looks like the visuals are gonna be great, just hope my brain is in a state to register it on some level!

Amazing! Remember what it was? Sometimes he tours Gong under different names, Planet Gong is one I think, how old is that? http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/uncategorized/taint-live-the-crobar/ There be a review of the Taint gig, with a couple of photos, pretty much where I was stood!

Never heard of Threadless before, will check it out. Yeah I love that shirt, he gets his fair wear out of it! Brann had a sick one on the DVD making of, it sort of flowed into his neck tattoo, unintentionally I reckon though. I found another HD performance of em, it's from Scion Fest, only 4 songs I think, though the rest are on Youtube, some with Scott Kelly singing too!

  • d3vil0ck

ha, no problem. mastodon are the tits indeed but we can't forget about the misfits either! regarding crack the skye though, man what a great album. review that next! i have bad luck with mp3 players too, the signal to my ipod's left speaker went out, followed by the right shortly after. piece of junk

  • d3vil0ck

hey there, just wanted to say i saw your "static tensions" review in the kylesa shout box and have to say i agree 100%, great review. nice charts too

    avril 2009
  • Duncan1349

Just read it now, very good, though with the mention of Georgia and the associated bands, i'm sure facial hair should have made an appearance! Get on the new Isis too, my 5th listen last night saw it really sink in, I was nearly passed out at the time, so maybe that's the best way for it to sink into your sub-conscience! Couple of points of interest... http://www.weburnthroughthenight.blogspot.com/ Scott Kelly's blog And http://www.revolvermag-digital.com/revolver/200905/ A good interview with Mastodon, more of the personal stories leading up to CTS as opposed to the music, but insightful, learned a good few things I didn't know.

    avril 2009
  • Duncan1349

Yeah sometimes it can be slow to catch up, just curse at it a good load as I do, that usually works... At the moment it won't scrobble my iPod plays, which is monkey balls as it did not long ago, must have took that abuse personally. I've played CTS a good 20 times now, you just started on it?! Gonna be a good week for you! I've not read your review yet, but I found Static Tensions stonking, more drums please! Maybe a instrumental version with 6 drummers for good measure. Make sure you join their group, and post the review on there :-)

Some of the videos missing, well Parts 2 and 4. I've watched a couple which are cool, but I don't want to spoil the album with it! I'm gonna have heard and seen everything about the album before I get to hear the fucker!

    mars 2009
  • Duncan1349

Haha yeah I had seen that, had a little in joke chuckle with the other South Park aficionados! I might have to skip buying that because i'm going to want to buy the album on vinyl, which will probably be hand-made out of some rare mineral by the band members themselves and be a fortune, oh well. Oh and good news you might have seen... they're going to play the whole album when they tour, along with a screen playing a video accompaniment with it.
