Small venues allow me to see the whites of their eyes, even Aynsley Lister admits The Cluny is his favourite UK venue. Stadium gigs? They're not for me!

That said, it's an absolute disgrace that this young man played in front of only 200 people last night. His talent is immense and yet, because his genre doesn't fit, he largely remains annonymous. Comfortably on a par with Bonamassa, Aynsley's light shines brighter as he's a much more prolific songwriter. Whilst the masses stay in and are fed X Factor commercial karaoke, the few were treated to a great display of live rock music last night. Mark my words, this young man will be a star!

Early Morning Dew, Hurricane, Soul and the fabulous What's it All About are quickly becoming Lister anthems. Speaking of anthems, last night's gig was finished off with Aynsley's superb version of Purple Rain, you've got to hear that song live. Wow! In addition, the new material showcased last night bodes well for another studio album due out next year.

Another line up change saw a new keyboard player and drummer. Both superb. Midus is now becoming a stalwart on Bass.

For those of you who are new to Aynsley, can I suggest you look him up sooner rather than later before he starts playing venues where you won't be seeing the whites of his eyes at all? You won't be disappointed.

A good night was had by all! Well, all 200 of us anyway.
