To start out my blog, I am going to discuss a band that I am familiar with, but one that most people are not. The Disco Biscuits are a jam band that originated at Pennsylvania University in the mid 90's, but today they have spread their music around the world. They say that they have "brought together the worlds of jam bands and electronic music with a trance-fusion sound that mixes the free form improvisations of jazz with the hypnotic rhythms which created the soundtrack for rave culture." As you can tell from the complicated description of their style of music, this is a creative band that has broken down new barriers for music. The Disco Biscuits have many unique songs including one of their more popular ones The World Is Spinning. The Disco Biscuits also have released many albums including their most recent one Rocket 3 which was a successful album although The Disco Biscuits are more of a live band. The band is almost always on tour, and have developed a hugely dedicated fan base. It is not uncommon for people to follow them from state to state to see their amazing performance. They are notorious for switching up their music while live keeping things spontaneous, so you never know what to expect which keeps fans of edge. If you go to a Disco Biscuit show you can expect to hear at least 2 sets, see a mind blowing light show, and experience a strong sense of community. The fans of the band seem to be mostly people of good nature who are only there to enjoy the music and nobody wants any problems. One time at a show I walked through a group of people in a circle at a show and the people got upset that I ruined their flow of vibes. The Vibes are very strong at Disco Biscuit shows, and everyone there seems to feel it. Their music seems to bring people together and create feelings of euphoria, I have never seen so many people look so happy in one place. This video showing a show I attended does a decent job describing the Disco Biscuit experience, . The Disco Biscuits are truly a band worth seeing, and they create an incredible experience. Their list of tour dates is extensive, but they will be playing in Philadelphia on November 27th and they will be playing a 5 day run in New York City beginning on December 27th, so do not miss your opportunity to see this amazing band live.
