1. John Butler Trio
My number one this week is JBT. Thanks to rochester92 I found out that JBT has a new live album (Live at St.Gallen). So I just had to check that out!
I am not completely sure what I think about this cd, it is cool but it is not as smooth as Sunrise over Sea. I guess I have to listen a bit more to it.
2. Xavier Rudd
Super chill music, Ben Harper meets Mishka meets Jack Johnson. Connie's song is my favorite song at the moment.
3. The Cat Empire
I never heard of this band, until I subscribed to this website. Their music can be described as a fusion of jazz, funk and rock with heavy latin influences and there are even some ska influences here and there.. The most important thing is… It sounds fresh!
4. Mofro
A mate of mine adviced me this band. I'm not really sure about them.. sounds a bit… swampy.. swampy bluesy… I think it is a bit to tame. Not really my kind of music.
5. Matisyahu
Live at Stubb's… OMG… this album… it is brilliant. I listen this the whole day on my walkman. Darn this is some great music!!!
6. Yerba Buena
This uptempo latin rap dance group makes some good danceble songs. Guajira (I Love U 2 Much) is IMO their best song from the album President Alien, althought the rest of the album has some nice surprises too.
7. Ben Harper
New CD, soon to perform in The Netherlands, great artist… I wonder why this artist is only on the 7th place. That is not right!
8. Matt Costa
SUMMER IS COMING! And Matt Costa is a nice snack for the spring. Sunshine and Sweet Roseare the songs with a little hit potential.. My guess.. one day fly, but what a great snack it is!
9. Bløf
Dutch group, they make beautifull songs. Kauwgom, thee en wierook and Ze is er niet always give me gooseflesh :) If you listen to this as a non-Dutch.. it problably sucks ;)
10. Ben Lee
Number ten… Ben Lee. Artist with the name Ben allways seem to be talented.. There is Ben Harper, Ben Christophers, Ben Folds and now there is Ben Lee. I just got Awake Is The New Sleep this week. On this album Ben Lee just makes beautifull calm emotional songs.. Tracks like Catch My Disease and Into the dark are a bit more uptempo and have hit potential.
Some of the artist surprised me to be high up my weeklist. Yerba Buena for example.. I wonder what my weeklist will look like next time :D
