Yeah man, things have been good, busy but good. I've been traveling a lot lately for work and haven't had a ton of time to stay on top of music. Overall, I thought this year was pretty sub-par as far as great albums go. I do however recommend the Generation of Vipers album, heavy as fuck! I also came across a chaotic hardcore punk album from a band called Run With The Hunted that's right up your alley in my opinion. I'll be putting together my 2014 list at some point this week. Look out for that as I'll have everything I liked and listened to on there.

HOLY SHIT is right. That sounds like the best possible line-up I could think of. I can't wait to hear that. I did play that Women album earlier. I listen to music at work while I'm at my desk, but it's usually at low volume not to bother my fellow office-mates. I also do a lot of running around so I'm not always at my desk while stuff is playing. I did like what I heard but I definitely need to listen to it again so it really sinks in. Anything else you've heard recently you've been stoked on?

I'm good, man! How about you? Great to hear from you. I don't know, I think 2014 has lots of potential. Tesseract and Skyharbor are both writing new material - if you haven't heard Altered State and Blinding White Noise, you really need to. Both stunning albums and I can't wait for their follow ups. I saw Tesseract earlier this year, absolutely incredible love, with Protest the Hero (who's new album is fantastic!) along with Intervals and the Safety Fire. What did you make of Misery Signals' new album from last year? I really enjoyed it, nice to hear some new material from them after so long. Perhaps most importantly, however, is that Sikth are back together and touring!!! I'm off to see them in November with Heart of a Coward. Can't wait, and I'm praying for some new material too. If you need a tech fix in the meantime, check out their guitarist's other band - Aliases. Lots of good British influence for ya there! Any good gigs coming up or gone to recently?

Sorry for the late reply, with the new job, I haven't really had the time to get on here as much, or search for new music. Anyways, I'm kinda disappointed, this year has been super slow as far as new music. So far I'm digging the new Bird Eater, Helms Alee, and Jack and the Bearded Fishermen albums. Also really cool new instrumental metal band called Minerva Superduty just released an awesome album. Really waiting for the new Mastodon and Torche albums. How 'bout you?

Thanks for the request man. I've seen your shouts around and on irishtim's page. He's good people for sure! Def on the same page as far as musical tastes go. Got some killer stuff on your charts, wouldn't even know where to start. Diverse too. Cheers dude!

Hey man. I wanted to give the head's up on Mutoid Man. It's a side project band featuring Stephen Brodsky of Cave In and Ben Koller of Converge/All Pigs Must Die/United Nations. Super badass album to finish out this pretty stellar year for music. It's a must check out!

That sounds like an awesome night. I'd like to see Norma Jean, I heard they put on an energetic live show. I wish I lived somewhere that had good live concerts on a regular basis. I was gonna move the family up to Portland since I just finished school, to look to further my career, but a really great opportunity just presented itself to me that will most likely keep me here in good ol' So Oregon. I'm just gonna have to take the time to come down there and see a show sometime.

I checked out that Boatrocker album, pretty cool stuff. Musically they're really good, but the vocals get stale for me after a few songs. You're right on the money with Pretty Mouth sounding like early Daughters stuff, I dig that shit. I got my hands on that Ongoing Concept you recommended a while back, really interesting stuff there. The album is hit and miss with me (but more hit). I can't think of another band that sounds anything similar to their stuff. The new East Of The Wall is a really good listen. New Russian Circles is awesome too if you haven't heard it yet.

I'd like to see BTBAM again. I saw them a couple years ago w/Baroness & Mastodon. They shred live for sure. I haven't discovered anything spectacular lately. I was expecting more from the new Doomriders album. The new Pelican is pretty good though. Also been jamming the Light Bearer and Kvelertak albums a lot lately. I've actually been going through my back catalog of stuff trying not to get too burnt on 2013 releases. I am anxiously awaiting the new Russian Circles at the end of the month. There's suppose to be a new Torche album in the works too, but no release date on that one yet. How 'bout you, anything I need to know about?

I'm actually digging the new Norma Jean. You're also right on the money w/their albums. Bless the Martyr and O'God were awesome. O'God sounded like a Both album for sure. Redeemer was pretty good and I hated Anti Mother. The new Rosetta is also really good, I've been listening to it a lot lately. It's a free download @
