Speaking of good female roles, have you watched Orphan Black before? You might like it; the lead actress plays several different characters in the series and she's phenomenal. Kinda pissed off she hasn't gotten much awards recognition for it.

Oh ya, unexpected indeed, jeez! I like that it tried to feel like a sort of conclusion, but having everything unresolved linger for a year only makes it even more potent when it all eventually comes to a head. I feel like everyone's gonna die, but I hope Molly and Gus make it out okay (that might be wishful thinking on my part!) Very curious to see what mischief Malvo's up to too in Sin City. Yeah, Odenkirk was great in Nebraska and I watched him in a bit of Mr. Show, funny stuff. I totally know what you mean about finding too many shows -- between these series and all the games I have, I'm never ever bored. Fargo's one of the few shows that I always watch when it airs; some shows, I get lazy if I'm doing stuff and will put it off to watch later (still not caught up with Walking Dead). It's definitely tied with True Detective (I might even say it beats TD, but they're VERY close) for my favorite new series of the year.

I love that; I read that they even did a bit of sign language ad-libbing during the garage scene that got cut. I hope they add it on the DVD or something. And yeah, he had to listen to Molly eventually, or his character would've stretched credulity a bit. (Excited for Better Call Saul btw?) I'm having the same problem again where I like all the characters so much that I want everybody to win, even though it can't happen.

"Nobody likes being watched while they eat." Have you seen what Mr. Wrench is actually saying to Mr. Numbers in sign language when there's no subtitles? It's pretty hilarious.

Yep; incidentally, the part where they mock the fat American tourists is one of my favorite scenes. So many good moments though, I gotta watch it and Seven Psychopaths again. And yeah, one of the reasons I wanted to watch Turn is because I was very interested in the setting of the show -- I'm a spy fan so the premise appealed to me. I'll probably catch up soon. Fargo was indeed excellent, such a strong cast and always great fun to see Malvo fuck shit up so expertly. Agreed on all Mad Men counts; I can't stand Lou, but at least Don's back in the game (even though he had to accept a bunch of draconian stipulations to get there). And Betty! Ha. Little Bobby's got such a fucked-up upbringing, I feel horrible for him. Anyway, I highly recommend The Americans; it's a clever, tense, and well-done show. The episodes have gone really deep with their subject matter, and I've jokingly called it Mad Men with spies on occasion. I think you'd like it.

I feel the same way; frankly I got the impression that Raylan took a backseat in S5, and wasn't nearly as important or strong a character. But hopefully tightening the focus in the final season will bring him back to the fore again. (I too am rooting for Boyd.) I thought about watching Turn but haven't tried the pilot out. Worth a watch? And agreed, Fargo feels really ambitious since it feels more like a movie than any of the shows I've watched recently. I'm appreciating this trend towards limited series/anthologies. The latest ep of Mad Men was indeed stellar. Sally takes after Don in so many ways, and the good side of that is that they can bond so well. I also can't believe I forgot to mention The Americans in my last list; this week's episode was also killer. Do you watch it?

It was definitely a better pay-off to the abrupt ending of Ava and Boyd's relationship. But yes, as much as I'm excited to see what the end brings, I also couldn't possibly choose sides! As for other shows, I'm on a bunch -- mainly GoT, Mad Men, Orphan Black, and Fargo for now. Been thinking about catching up with Hannibal too. You?

Yeah, it's definitely gonna be a new cast and story. Given the complaints from this season, I'm thinking there might be one or two female detectives too. As for Justified, on the whole I was disappointed with this season (the 2nd-to-last ep was the best from S5), but the finale set up the final season pretty clearly. I'm insanely excited to see the final showdown.

Agreed, I understand some people were disappointed that the ending wasn't as rooted in weird-fiction as the rest of the series suggested, but I think it struck the right balance. Like you said, the mysticism really set it apart from other buddy cop shows. Definitely more about the journey than the destination. Very eager to see what and who's in store for S2.

I'll admit, my current situation is less than ideal... Anyway, I'm sure the game is worth experiencing multiple times (I personally haven't been compelled to work on a New Game+ since Dark Souls, but I'll see what happens with this one). I've also heard good things about the multiplayer mode in TLoU, might have to give it a shot sometime. Maybe make some new acquaintances along the way.

It's quite a remarkable soundtrack, easily among the best game soundtracks I've heard. I haven't spent as much time playing the game as I'd like, though; being an outlaw doesn't allow for much in the way of free time. Does Survivor unlock only when you've finished Hard mode?
