  • Bloc Party + Sebastien Grainger + Albert Hammond, Jr.! On Sunday!

    22 mars 2007, 4h30m

Well, Sunday March 25th will = fucking awesome

    Toronto, ON
    Kool Haus
    8 p.m.

I am really psyched to see Bloc Party, Sebastien Grainger and Albert Hammond, Jr.

Has anyone seen any of these artists listed? I'm just curious as to different peoples opinions on their live shows. I've heard various comments about Bloc Party's shows. I'm sure many more people have seen Bloc Party live than Seb or Albert, since those two are both just starting out on solo careers, but I am also equally sure that some of you have seen one of these two. If you have seen any, let me know what you thought of them, I'm quite interested to hear your opinions (especially on Sebastien), as previously stated...let me know :)

  • Muse this weekend!!

    9 sept. 2006, 21h30m

This weekend is about to become even better. First off, saw The Protector with Tony Jaa...I am still in awe of it's awesomeness. Go see it if you haven't. His first movie, Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior is also pretty cool. But anyway, tomorrow at 7:30 I am seeing another one of my top 10 bands that I want to see live...this time it's Muse. It will be awesome. I have been listening to them nonstop for about a week. Then, possibly might see Death Cab for Cutie with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists opening. That would be almost equally as sweet, as I hear Ted Leo puts on a great show. So it would be sweet to see all 3. Anyone hear anything about any of these bands live shows?

Also, I had the chance to go to a Head Automatica show this past week but couldn't. How are their shows? I heard one of the openers (Men Women and Children) sort of stole the show but Head Automatica still had great energy.

Minus the Bear will also be in my area soon, which would also be cool. Anyone know how they are live?

P.S. - If you like or if you're bored and avoiding schoolwork like me, let me know how any number of the following list of artists are live if you've seen them...
    1. Coldplay
    2. The Arcade Fire
    3. Sufjan Stevens
    4. Interpol
    5. Radiohead
    6. Bloc Party
    7. Arctic Monkeys
    8. Death from Above 1979(unfortunately they're now no longer :( )
    9. Editors
    10. Hot Hot Heat
    11. Jack Johnson
    12. Jamie Cullum
    13. The Living End
    14. Matthew Good (or Matthew Good Band)
    15. The Raconteurs
    16. Ray LaMontagne
    17. Snow Patrol
    18. Stars
    19. The Strokes
    20. The Walkmen
    21. We Are Scientists
    22. Wolf Parade

I know it's a long list, but if you've seen any of them, I'd appreciate your opinions :) Thanks
  • Show(s)

    4 mai 2006, 23h56m

Well now officially less than 72 hours until I get to go to see Ben Folds play in Niagara Falls. Only 15 bucks a ticket isn't too bad at all. Hopefully it'll be a great show; I've heard nothing but good from people who have been to shows of his. Since I'm on the topic of shows, I think I'll be like everyone else for some reason and post artists who I would love to see live...

    1. Coldplay - Hands down one of my top five to see live.
    2. Muse - Heard absolutely awesome things about their live shows. Heard they exhibit such a great energy playing live.
    3. The Arcade Fire - Also, nothing but praise heard. I think they would be quite interesting to see since they aren't a typical band (drums, bass, guitar).
    4. Sufjan Stevens - Although I haven't heard anything about his live shows, I could imagine they wouldn't be as many would expect due to his usage of a variety of different instruments on his albums. It would be tough to make it a good live show without them, but he is an amazing artist.
    5. Interpol - Just a great band; Would love to see how they fare live.
    6. Damien Rice - An exceptionally talented artist; Have heard good things about his live shows.
    7. The Strokes - Heard from a friend who went not too long ago that they do great live.
    8. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - These guys just seem like they would be awesome live.
    9. Matthew Good Band - Although they broke up, just from listening to Beautiful Midnight they seem like they would be incredible live.
    10. Radiohead/Death from Above 1979/Head Automatica/Queens of the Stone Age/Death Cab for Cutie - For this I just didn't know what to put, so here are some that I haven't yet mentioned. Just because they are great artists.
