Still wish I'd seen the filling in the middle of the sandwich as well as the outer wrapper, but Tuesday's performance of Close to the Edge was still magnificent!

Davison sang it really well, and Steve Howe was still amazing. The only other time I saw them was a short set in '69 - somewhat different band then! - but I don't know how I missed going to see them in Manchester in the first half of the 70s! Shame that I missed Anderson and Wakeman in their prime though.

Finally got to see Yes again last night - very enjoyable (and nostalgic!) Close to the Edge was the highlight for me, but I wish they would play Relayer instead of Going for the One (not sure that Downes could manage this!)

I really can't explain - but I have heard it on almost all CD-Rs I have bought from artists... I can't say the same about CD-R copied by me - there I cannot hear any difference... But maybe I'm just wrong and there's a jingle in my own ears... :P

Have you ever noticed how different high frequencies sound on "professionally produced" CD-Rs? Treble seems to be more abrasive, to "sizzle" more... I have noticed this on multiple occasions and the result is consistent when listening through speakers or headphones. Take Steve Unruh's CD-Rs for example - it sounds so obvious to me. Not that it's bothering me, but I have always wondered why...?

Yeah, saw that comment this morning too... Some people wouldn't recognize Prog if it'd hit them in the face... yet so much other unrelated junk seems to belong on PA... :(

you can set up multiple lastfm accounts - and indeed the lastfm scrobbler does let you move from one to the other.....I;ve done that a few times :)))

aha......ok....I thought you were letting your hair down - with a Scrobble and be damned policy! But see that that would mess your recommendations up! I pretty much scrobble everything....Other half is not a real prog fan so have to tempt him in with things like Marillion and IOEarth..! So a lot of my scrobbles are the compromise -weekend listening and sometimes in mid week when I forgot to shut the scrobbler down it gets all soul music based..... which is not my thing actually....... but on the bright side have converted him to Marillion in a big way and actually the less metallic Porcupine Tree - Those fabulous Lightbulb Sun and Stupid Dream albums are firm favorites....!!

À propos de moi

Progressive Rock is my "thing". The band Yes are the pinnacle of Prog Rock for me; the best there ever has been and the best there ever will be. I eat, breath and sleep Prog :)
