Yeah, it sure was an awesome experience. I'd like to set up a record company when my school's done, but the theatre bizz really made me think it over again. Luckily enough my school is situated in Amsterdam. I rarely leave the city, only to see my family really. Only 5 working days left now, so the week after the next one will be very odd. I'm finding myself at a turning point of my life at the moment. Exciting haha.

Well, as I study marketing.... I do the publicity for a few of the shows. Dutch cabaret is my thing in Bellevue (the theatre) but we have a lot of plays and good dance performances as well. It's really fun, but I do it for school, so it's over in a week and a half. So in 2 weeks I'm back to school again. Which is fun, in a way. But I'm really going to miss the place. Where do you work?

We should totally take a week free from school and run away to Paris. The moonlight coming in from the window of our cheap appartmentwindow would make it perfect.

I don't use drugs and I don't drink either, but it's just the freedom that taken from you. And in my opinion people are very, very stressed out here. The nation is running, day in day out. For me, France seems to be a lot more relaxed. But I'm probably wrong haha.

Holland isn't that free anymore, rules and restrictions are killing everything. Everyone think Amsterdam is full of whores and drugs, but that isn't true anymore. Our administration is a joke as well. No, it isn't that swell over here. But hey, I'm a student and I receive money every month without working for it, so I shouldn't be complaining :D What do you study?

Cool! It's nice to see a girl (sorry to say) to listen to a fair bit of experimental music. My compliments! How's life in France?

Hai! Dat is jammer. Misschien moet jij hem bekend maken in Frankrijk. ;) Eh, ik heb een tijdje naar Patrick Bruel geluisterd. En verder ken ik (van naam) Jacques Bruel, Patricia Kaas... Heb jij nog (Franse) tips?

i have not visited France, or Europe at all for that matter, but i would like to go some day. do you have any suggestions as to places in France/Europe that someone should really visit?

no problem at all. life in the US of A is alright; depending on where you live, it can be really boring or not-as-boring. if there's nothing to do here, then a lot of people head across the border into Tijuana, Mexico where there are more entertainment options, albeit more decadent ones.

Rhys Chatham is really good; you should definitely listen to "A Crimson Grail". it's a composition he performed with 400 guitarists (!) in Paris a couple years back- absolutely beautiful. also, Glenn Branca, who worked with Chatham in New York in the 70s, is a must; "The Ascension" is his masterpiece. i'm actually Mexican and i live in the US... my house being just a few kilometres from Mexico. yeah, i studied French for five years in secondary school, and that's sort of how i got the username, from a friend. i haven't really spoken or practiced it in a while, but i keep sense of it whenever i watch a French film. :)
