    Everywhere I look,
Time flickers like a strobe light.
    The rhythms rage,
    In a reverb haze.
    Like we're driving through tunnels,
    But our wishes change.

Do I pull out my tongue
Or will the rain turn to scum?
    Do I wait under overcast,
Or will I miss my train to the sun?
    Do I flock among ghosts,
    Or dream to get lost?

Sounds like waves ring us awake,
    Above us, purple clouds combust.
    One ghost is singing,
    Another one is breathing.
    One ghost is gifted,
And the other one's wishing for luck.
    We're drifting through tunnels,
And there's clouds in our lungs.

Do I pull out my tongue
Or do I wait for the sun?
    You're riding through tunnels,
    Like strobelights through life.
    Everything will look different,
    Just on the other side.
    Everything will look different,
    But nothing is gone.
    Do I graze among ghosts,
    Or howl at the moon?
    If I miss my train,
    Another will come soon.

    Fingers bitter cold,
    Fists frozen by the fog
    Barefoot in the snow.
Your breath can catch the clouds
    Your eyes can melt ice
    And I am nearby,
    Hidden in the white-
    In a luminescent glow.

    When the fog clears
    Listen to the city streets,
    Among the discordance
    Welcome tomorrow's beat.

Close your eyes to misty nights,
    When the water freezes
    Along the moonlight rhythm
    Whistling through the frost.
    Open your eyes, and breath.

    Everyone's sleeping,
    Could that it be, forgetting
That time is out of control.
    Reserved for a dream,
    The tears on the seams,
    Did you forget too?

If I tell you the future,
    Tell me where to begin.
    What is it you know
    That will make you believe?
    Will I believe you too?

    It begins to make sense
    As soon as it scatters,
    It begins to make sense
    When it no longer matters.

    Everyone's sleeping,
    Could it be me, forgetting
    That I'm out of control.
    Reserved for a dream,
    The tears turn to steam,
    Who did I forget?
  • April 2013 - My Glorious Return!!

    29 avr. 2013, 11h58m

    April 2013.

It's been a real blast from the past this month as I found myself once again exploring all that I could from this magnificent site. I've been gone for probably two years or so, and I have been on this site since 2006. As the artists I loved started to change, and my tastes became much more refined, I walked away from one of the things I love the most... the different sensations I can feel when under the influence of music!!!

A big part of it, too, was the trauma of losing my old playlist, as well as my old computer. I had so much music... Some I was proud of, some that I wasn't so proud of, and a lot that I hadn't even heard of to be honest.

Here I am, once again, drawn to the realm of sound. My tastes have changed a bit, my music has changed. I still love those classics, and made sure to include a few of my old favorites as I have scrobbled this month.
Devin Townsend, Nightwish, Jellyfish, Rabbit Junk, Firewater, The Project Hate MCMXCIX, Agalloch, Foxy Shazam, Arch Enemy

Some of the new artists that have been added to my profile include:

My most recent discovery... Northlane! Aussie Metalcore. Being a veteran of tr00 metul, I normally would frown and advise against metalcore... But, the genre has really grown on me, and these guys are not typical metalcore. Check em out!

    Crystal Castles
Though I've been listening to a few of their songs for a little over a year now, I was reluctant to pursue further. The 8bit sound has never appealed to me. I decided to give them a fair chance, and I fell in love! Their songs are bizaare, catchy, energetic, filled with the spirit of the angsty hipster raver archtype.
I almost got the chance to see them live in Tempe this month, and I wish that I had. The tickets were sold out. I hope they come back!

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
I actually got the privilege to see this band live when they came to Phoenix in March for the "McDowell Mountain Music Festival". They're awesome live, they have a lot of energy and know how to capture an audience. Highly recommend seeing these guys!

I'm too tired to add more, but there are 3 for you to look at if you haven't already.

Over the past year or so I've been leaning toward the EDM scene. Trance has become an obsession of mine. I'm officially going to my first rave in May. Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, KhoMma, and a few other big artists will be playing. It's gonna be a huge event, and I'm lucky to be kicking my first rave experience off with a few of my old college gang. I'll write about it for sure, so keep an eye out for that if you want.

    Cool. PEACE!
