Thank you! :) Old movies & photos have such an otherworldly beauty to them... Have you seen Cocteau's "The blood of a poet"? Some of the photos are from that movie. (btw the movies you recommended are still on my list to watch, haven't forgotten about them... I've just been distracted lol)

Me too. Gotta love Buster. Have you seen "The General" on blu-ray? It's pure perfection.

really is that charlie chaplin? I couldn't tell, but now that you're saying, it does make sense beacause of the little doll he is looking at. You know, I have this "mania" too, I have looots of random photos myself :)) I love the screen caps especially :D

Haven't seen either of those movies. I think I've heard of Drugstore Cowboy though. I'll be sure to check them out, thanks :)

Yeah it's probably because I only slept 2 hours lol... everything shows itself in a different and complicated light. Heath was certainly very much hyped because of his death but I think he was a good actor. Saw a movie called "Candy" in which he plays a drug addict. Quite dramatic and touching.

I was thinking of watching it too, though usually action hero movies put me off... only one I liked was Dark Knight because of Heath Ledger. :) Btw, nice new avatar, finally figured out what it is about lol... at first I thought it is some kind of Alice in Wonderland illustration...

Well I think it is the same one... the movie is a comic book adaptation and that scene is at the very beginning of the movie as I've read. Just a part of a history recap I guess. So it's not about the 60's... but I can recommend you another movie "The Boat That Rocked" which is about a 60's pirate rock radio station. :)

OK so after a little research, the photo you're probably talking about is a screencapture from the movie Watchmen (haven't seen it, so no idea if I'm right I'm just guessing lol) ... the scene was inspired by 2 events. One was the anti war protest from 1967 when a protester put carnations in gun barrels and it was imortalized becoming one of the iconic photos of the 60's... this is the one I saw: photo) and then there's a second happening, the Kent State shootings of anti war protesters, which happened in 1970... There was a girl named Allison Krause who also put flowers in gun barrels saying 'Flowers are better than bullets'. She was one of the victims of this shooting.
