here comes the last stuff for now... Plastikman - Consumed (dark ambient) Bill Laswell - Invisible Design (a bit mixed quality on the tracks, but some is rather nice darkish ambient)

yet some stuff... Legend - From the Fjords (rather old-school epic rock 'n rolish metal album) Kôji Endô - King's Field original besttrack (this is a game soundtrack, and it's all using a sort of standard midi way of playing sounds, but of course uses it's own library of sounds. There's some not that great tracks, but some is rather good too. The strange thing about these tracks is that it's all baroqueish dark ambient. You may like some of it) Ko Otani - Shadow of the Colossus: Roar of the Earth (great soundtrack, filled with epic battle music and calm relaxing tunes) Pigs in Space - Pigs in Space (if you want to try some more darkish goaish full-on trance) Jupiter 8000 - Jupiter 8000 (if you rather want to try something similar to the above just more ambientish) Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygen and Equinoxe (if you haven't listened to this already, it's time to. IMO the songs vary very much in quality)

Some more... J. S. Bach - The Art of Fugue (BWV 1080) (as usual with a lot of classical music, this has been recorded many a time, and so the question is, what are some good records of this incomplete work. I really don't have any favorite atm, but while some contain a lot of instruments, some is just strings or piano etc. I rather like the Emerson String Quartet recording, which is just strings, because you can hear so clearly the inspiration Varg got from this piece in some of his ambient works)

Hmm, here's some stuff at least worth checking out if you haven't already... Aphex Twin - Select Ambient Works 85-92 (ambient) Biosphere - Microgravity (ambientish 90s electronic, which if you like you may want to check out the original WipEout soundtrack, more precisely what CoLD SToRAGE has donem for the series and this can be downloaded for free from his own website) Klaus Schulze - Moondawn (probably my favorite Klaus Schulze album, the tracks are very long and builds up. It's space ambient.) Klaus Schulze, Rainer Bloss - Drive Inn (sounds a bit like if you mixed Klaus Schulze with Kraftwerk) The Evolution Of The Dark Side Of The Moog (a compilation of the eight first Dark Side of the Moog albums) Philip Glass - Glassworks (minimalistic postmodern "classical", you either hate it or love it)

I think I were talking about me listening to Avzhia - The Key of Throne. I think I talked to you about it last time, but I really recommend this album http://www.amazon.com/Beethoven-Symphony-9-D-Minor/dp/B000001OEX . If you enjoy DCD, you may for example like some songs by Kaya Project. Do you listen to any electronic, in which case, what kind?

LOL sweat-steam is so true... I ended up at the edge of the mosh pit and experienced quite a bit of it secondhand. DCD should be great, I'm really liking what I've heard of their new album. Curious to read more about them as individuals too, in regards to their neoclassical underpinnings.

Enjoy the show! Gorguts and Death (1st set) were fantastic. I'd advise you to save your merch / drink / venue tour / defecation time for Death's 2nd set, though I didn't stay for all of it (I left because I was exhausted and had work to go to six hours later - can't say the music was unbearable)

Yeah that ain't, you can still taste the prog death flavoring. Nevertheless, it's hard to be satisfied with mediocrity in so great a genre. But! as my faith in Death sinks, my faith in Gorguts grows as I unearth the twisted and deformed depths of Obscura. Still haven't sampled From Wisdom to Hate yet... Perhaps a worthwhile endeavor

My verdict after ~150 plays: Death is fun. I'd definitely slide a few of their tracks into an introductory Death Metal mix-tape, especially if the recipient was coming from a rock n' roll background. It's definitely a nice complement to the dissecting that Gorguts' technicality invites (and rewards greatly via). Just got my ticket in the mail today!
