Such an amazing band. Far too underrated. Hopefully they return soon!

I wouldn't call System of a Down nu-metal, except for some of their songs in their earlier career. But, yeah, its idiotic to compare Giant Squid with them, as Aaron only barely sounds likes Serj in Neonate and nowhere else.

Hmm, well lately I've been enjoying King Crimson's album "Red" quite a bit, definitely give that a listen if you enjoy 70's prog rock at all, it's pretty awesome. Aside from that I've listened to a fair bit of Animals As Leaders and Boris recently. Looking through your library, I think you should give the band Failure a try, they're a good 90's alt rock band, so if you're into Alice In Chains lately, they might be to your taste. They've only got 3 albums, if you want a more spacey sonic vibe, go for Fantastic Planet. If you want more straight up grungey alternative rock, give Comfort or Magnified a listen(I personally prefer Magnified. Specific songs that I really like include Another Space Song, Blank, The Nurse WHo Loved Me off of FP, and Moth, Frogs, Bernie off of Magnified to start off with. :)

dude you should check out a band called ludicra they are a pretty cool post metal/black metal band with a chick singer they have some sort of progressive vibe that kind of reminds me of mastodon...tell me what you think.
