saw your comment on the martial industrial page. You might be interested in Vatican Shadow. Its got a synthy, industrial, militaristic vibe thematically based on current day US-Middle East war/politics etc.

I've spoken with a mod twice in the last 8 months regarding this. Apparently, they're trying to implement a feature where you can instantly put people on your ignore list and then have their posts not even appear...that is, you don't even know if they posted. But the mods as a whole have not done a good job, especially with both Metallica and Megadeth shoutboxes. It's a circle jerk party, and it has gotten so bad.

Visceral Bleeding is good if you want something similar, can't think of much else. or do you just want good death metal? bit confused.

...~~~~~~~ But they're prob not chamber music. -Delete these shouts as soon as you like-! btw I think these mostly played on scrobbler code lastfm://rql/bGlicmFyeTpoZWFkZXkgYW5kIHRhZzoiMjB0aCBjZW50dXJ5IGNsYXNzaWNhbCI= or click http://last.fm/listen/rql/bGlicmFyeTpoZWFkZXkgYW5kIHRhZzoiMjB0aCBjZW50dXJ5IGNsYXNzaWNhbCI= ~~~~ or ~~~~~~~~ lastfm://rql/bGlicmFyeTpoZWFkZXkgYW5kIHRhZzoiYmFyb3F1ZSI= click http://last.fm/listen/rql/bGlicmFyeTpoZWFkZXkgYW5kIHRhZzoiYmFyb3F1ZSI=

Hmm... 'upbeat chamber' from a recent composer ?? A tricky one. Seems my 20th century is pretty downbeat. Kronos is a good idea & http://www.last.fm/music/Vitamin+String+Quartet & http://www.last.fm/music/Balanescu+Quartet. What about these, but they're tracks not albums : Brandenburg Concerto #3 - 1st [track artist=Nico Muhly]Etude 1 ~~~~ Resolution ~~~~ Facade Suite: Mariner Man ~~~~ Main Title: An American In Paris (Alternate Version - Outtake) ~~~~ Allegretto (Polka) for String Quartet ~~~~ La marchande d'eau fraiche (The Fresh Water Seller) ~~~~ Sorbet No. 1: Latin American Interlude ~~~~

I stole that album collage thing too, that's cool as hell. additionally, your justin beiber review in your journal is a stroke of wonderment. I lost my shit. salute

  • WasNotWhyNot

I saw you asked for chamber music. I don't see any Kronos Quartet in your charts. anything of theirs should fit the bill and be rather amazing.

hows the new skinny puppy?, last album I heard of theirs was greater wrong of right.

you were 'snarky' to me first. though I'm sorry for being insulting, even in retaliation. and in fairness, there is a possibility I was genuine. I cannot be blamed for explaining its entirety for you did not specify what was misunderstood.

okay, are you familiar with squares and rectangles? you see, by the principles of geometry, a rectangle is a square. however, a square is not a rectangle. this is how subgenres work. alternative metal is the parent genre, a general offshoot of the underground metal scene, post-hardcore, and obviously alternative rock. nu metal is a subgenre, adding in hip hop and groove metal influences, and becoming it's own distinct style. while nu metal is alternative metal, not all alternative metal, obviously, is nu metal.

  • WasNotWhyNot

nu metal is a subgenre of alternative metal, that's the difference. not sure if you ever got an answer to that question.

  • Schwilly666

check out Gonin-ish (japanese progressive death metal) kinda like a death art zoyd with female vocalist (death and clean) its pretty intense stuff. I haven't heard it in a while but it might be up your alley since you like a lot progressive stuff. The album I have a copy is Naishikyo-Sekai (2008)

  • Schwilly666

They are decent. I've only heard the album twice. Real mellow ambient music to chill out while I'm working. Nothing stands out a whole lot though, but good enough.

duran duran rio is extremely underated. Great melodies. if you can past their pop boy image, they were all great musicians. Rio is one of the first albums I ever bought in 1983, when I was 12. The choruses of hold back the rain and the song new religon is some of their best. I was really in to new wave before I got into metal

I see you checked them out. Your cup of tea? :>

Music is Math on geogaddi (BOC) got me hooked. I tried to play along on synth with it. They detune the notes between like a c# and d, so its tuned like a quarter way between the notes. guess why some of the tunes on that album have an unnerving effect. And all the backwards messages and occult numerolgy with their songs.(They claim it was just for fun) just add to the intrigue of the album. Defintely check out geogaddi first. The others are good, but the geogaddi is their best

found the assassin album pretty EPIC. heard any Mort garson (lots of synthes) black mass or his plantasia album. Zombi spirit animal album is cool synth prog,(haven't heard their new one though. Any board of canada geogaddi is their best.. that just off my head on what you might like(maybe)

Tangerine dream, exit was great. had heard them back in the the early 80's when I was a kid doing some soundtrack for a chuck norris film. wumpscut was also good(had heard one song from them before a long time ago). trying to check out mark shreeve out now can only find one song from assassin right now(thinks its mislabeled as assasin causes its 11:10 maybe it's angel of fire? Cool tunes

Re your post last month - Stacy's Mom IS a 'rip-off' of The Cars - that's pretty much what Fountains of Wayne said themselves! There are apparently a few references in the video too. I think they like doing that sometimes...Elevator Up sounds as close to classic Oasis anyone else has got too.
