Midwest sounding stuff.

20 déc. 2006, 2h49m

Well, I've always dug the midwest sounding emo but never have been able to get a good amount of feedback o nother bands in that realm.

HElp out and suggest some stuff and perhaps post a link to an mp3 download.

Also, id appreciate it if someone could link me to a Boys life and/or Ethel Meserve Full length CD.

Giants Chair = great band and suggestion! Here are a couple others... Braid The Get Up Kids (Early stuff: Woodson and 4min Mile) The Van Pelt Texas is the Reason Karate Jejune Penfold There were were a lot of bands that could be found on Crank! Records about this same time. Over at their site they've even got video from Mineral's last show in Austin: Crank! - A Record Company Also a lot of good same era bands can be found on the first 3 or 4 Emo Diaries Comps... Long live Deep Elm! (Shameless plug I know)

Deep elm was cool, indeed. Not shameless at all. People get too serious about music and too judgemental. Music is only heard through YOUR ears. I dont remember me sharing any of my ear drums with anyone else, so I'll pretty much enjoy what I like and you guys should too.

The album 'I blame the scenery' by Reubens accomplice is pretty typical of this genre - jangly guitars, off-key vocals, wierd time shifts etc. - but with more amazing melodies than you could shake a stick at. Their second album was o.k. but alot more polished than their debut. I'm pretty sure Jim Adkins guests on it too. Also, I don't know if it'll be difficult to get hold of, but there's a now defunct band called The Greenacre that wrote some pretty good stuff along these lines. My tag is 'Grimberian Splendour' on Soulseek if you want to get anything by either of these bands.Oh, and The Blacktop Cadence are pretty sweet, as well.

Bells On Trike. My Favourite Citizen. Spy Versus Spy. .. I would love if someone could upload any of this for me. Midwest sounding stuff sounds good to me! The best (not jangly or related probably) is Lucero. Also, I need to download Rainer Maria but I always associate with girl bands I absolutely hate such as Sleater Kinney.

Rainer Maria is incredibly good...well...at least their demo+s/t was. I have at least one album by each those bands, my SLSK is NitroMegaPanda, if you can't get SLSK, I'll have to upload them I guess.
