It's been too long. But, as promised, there is hope. I present to you a sampling of my recent favorites.

Do the Relapse – FMF is reborn! The whole album is solid.
Bomb – from Jason's previous album, but new to me – also rockin' awesome.
Noose Dressed Like a Necklace – as soon as I find this album in a store I'll give it a spin.
Ghost Under Rocks – Cello + Violin + Rock == Awesome. Their EP doesn't quite capture their live performance though.
Send Me Out – Local phenoms, can't wait for the LP!
Angry Dance – one more for good measure.
Sublime – from their recent EP.
No Thanks, Apocalypse Later? – Batter the Drag lives on.
Chemical Dress Eliza – This song is 37 seconds too long, and the guitar solo / bridge is shit, but the rest is just splendid.

On the electronica front, I'm quite pleased with the new Mosaik EP (clicky) even though it's mostly stuff I've had for a while. The key is it's 320k-mp3 rather than the old 128k or 192k. Jakob, if you're listening, put out some FLAC's (or let me buy a CD)!
Winternumb should give you the idea…
Also, The Antlers continually impress me, especially after catching him live. He released a free EP this week, and you'd be doing yourself a huge favor by checking it out.
On the Roof – sort of unfair to pick a track, since it's one fluid EP.
Dear (version 2) – older tune, one take with a tape-recorder.
Oh, and The Junior Varsity has a new album coming out in a month or two. That, and Art for Starters should be releasing Drugs Made / Drugs Ruined as soon as it gets mastered and artworked. Dave says so anyway. Also Lifejacket says he's going to have his EP done this summer, and The Shills want their LP out by then as well. If only Hunz would release something!
As for the big-names, Mae and Jimmy Eat World are recording/releasing… meh, we'll see.
Hope! Go away disco-brit-pop!
