Well surfing through LastFM pages, I found an ATP sponsered gig in London featuring Modest Mouse and Polvo. I am going to see Modest Mouse in December here in Manchester But, I haven't listened to Polvo in ages. In fact neither of the two CDs of their's I own a burnt into my iTunes library. So seeing the showing I started to listen to these records again, and what mighty fine records they both are, I was first introduced to Polvo by the late great John Peel, I remember spending ages seaching through Manchester's Record shops looking for a copy of their debut album without much success (Can't even remember what the record is called now cor…something). But I did manage to find a copy of their sophomore release Today's Active Lifestyle a couple of years later. At the time the record stood good favourable comparisons to Arches of Loaf and The Grifters, but was not a record I kept going back to untill now….and now I am gutted that Polvo aren't supporting Modest Mouse at the Ritz. What a show that would have been. As usual the londoncentric ATP dosen't run shows in the yokel provences….but, I am sure Issac Brock and his chums will put on a mighty fine show anyway…
