Hahah well it is like 5-6 years of listens. But yeah, Radiohead Muse and Beatles are well oo regular in my ears. I can't get Thom Yorke out, think I might need a stick without damaging the ear drum.. Criminally hadn't heard of AiS, will give them a listen when i get home!

Thank you! I am doing better, was real sore after I saw BFF because we walked A LOT. Still sore but not as bad and I feel a hell of a lot better. They were simply amazing! Sledge waved at us in van. Truly great show with exception of drunk girl passing out, people smoking weed, and drunk obnoxious guy in back of us. Are you going to see them? KMH is great live as well! Thank you, I will check it out! xo

Aw I would but I'm going home today and it's Pop this Friday. Let me know what's happening after that and I will definitely try to come!

Hey, I've been enjoying Standard Fare a lot! That would be great if you could give me more of their stuff? I've been in High Soc since Fresher's Week but I've never been to an event until Abi suggested we go to see your band the other week because I've had no one to tag along with. But I'd definitely be interested in coming to more stuff and being on committee!

Well, the CD was meant to come with the badge (I do have a bag of them somewhere in the house but can't find them) so maybe the Badge Fairy brought it for you?

Heh! It was on Songkick (via wegottickets) already and I like to maintain consistency in my gig listings :)

I enjoyed them a lot. My favourite was the Lighthouse Keeper's Song - probably because as you pointed out, it is a pop song! I shall look forward to hearing the rest!

I didn't spend much! I thinks it's only fair that people should be reimbursed for their efforts when creating music so I usually put a bit of money in when people put it on with the spend as much as you want option. I'll look forward to hearing the rest. I've only listened to the first song so far - my son made me turn it off!!!

*sob* I'd only get all emo and cry because I love Conor Oberst so much and he'd be rubbish like 25% of the times I've seen him. (I'm just trying to make myself feel better. Of course it'll be great... wahhh)

I'm more outraged by the fact that you appear to be seeing Bright Eyes next week. I'm hurt in fact. The jealousy HURTS.

À propos de moi

I am lucky enough to front a band called August Actually, with 3 of my favourite people. We formed to play a show supporting The Wave Pictures in May 2011 and since then we have done about 50 shows, supporting the likes of Tim Kasher(!!!), Allo Darlin, Darren Hayman, Bearsuit, and MJ Hibbett & the Validators, across 9 cities. We have an EP and a single out and our album should be out AT SOME POINT in 2014...!

Also, apparently there's a bloke called Alan in a new band called Poirot's Boys who looks exactly like me, but I don't see it myself...

I do some solo stuff, too, which isn't that different - just less good. I used to record my demos under the solo alias of Hannibal Hamster, but now I just go by Alexander Christopher Hale. I've already done more solo gigs in 2014 than any other year (and I have some others booked!) and will be releasing a solo EP at some point, which ironically features more musicians than any other musical venture I've been involved with...

...with the exception of Geoffrey and the Livingstones, which is/was primarily me and my friend Vom Vorton. We teamed up in February 2013 to record an MJ Hibbett cover for a compilation, then reunited at the end of the year to do a Christmas single which featured, er, LOADS of people, and raised £250 for Ashbourne Animal Welfare. I would like to do more things with GatLs.

I used to play keyboard and be deputy-frontman in a band called Japanese Sleepers. We released an EP with Thee SPC, and supported a whole bunch of great bands including The Wave Pictures, Standard Fare, The Rocky Nest, and The School..

A long time ago (i.e. when he wasn't in South Korea/now in Berlin), I played keyboard on a few live tracks for my dear friend Hawks and Other Birds. I also used to occasionally play banjo live with my good friends Heroes of the Mexican Independence Movement, and did the same with Robert George Saull. Once I was allowed to play keyboards with Red Shoe Diaries, and at Christmas Covers 2011 Burly Nagasaki invited me to join them for a song, too! And No! Disco do a song that I helped write (and if I'm drunk enough I get onstage and sing it with them).

I've also appeared onstage alongside The Flaming Lips (dressed as a yeti), The Loves (playing the role of Jesus' answerphone) and MJ Hibbett (playing the role of a civilian onlooker during a robot space invasion).
