Acid Bath and Eyehategod only though. Melvins aren't always sludgy. I'll probably check out Buzzoven and Crowbar next.

No problem, it's a great group. Who doesn't love when people experiment? Oh, yeah. I have to thank my love of horror movies for my finding them. Lucky Mckee is a godsend when it comes to music. haha. A few months of relentlessly searching what I thought I heard of their lyrics, and I finally found them--even though I'd heard 'Heaven Wasn't In The Sky' years before, I never knew who they were. Now they're a favorite group. <3 & Gotta say, you've got great taste!

I hope you can find a system that works for you. I guess the key is to keep experimenting. Somebody has to be the lead role. I think you have a good sense musicality and how it works, but the more difficult part is finding a way to express this urge in a productive and fulfilling manner; not just for yourself, but for your other band mates as well. Keep rocking.

Interesting. I've been writing songs for my band now since 2006. In the last year or so, I've taken the reigns and redirected its path. I basically record every idea that goes into a song, including: two guitar parts, bass, drum tracks, vocals, and back-ups. I present the rough recordings to the band for an open discussion. Each member tweaks their own part, and then we put it in the line-up if we like it enough. We've cranked out at least 30 originals, but haven't been exposing them to a wider audience until recently. I agree that bands focus on the fashion more, and that's probably the dumbest idea that music industry has ever produced. I choose the music.

Oh, that's cool. I've been into all sorts of punk since I started playing bass at age 15. Since I listened to NOFX, Lagwagon, Belvedere, Rehasher, and The Swellers soon after, I was hooked, and have been in multiple punk bands to the date. Even though I like other non-punk acts like The Strokes, Paul Gilbert, Allan Holdsworth, Blotted Science, and the Star Wars orchestral soundtrack, I kept coming back to my punk base. I love the attitude in portrays.

If you are referring to the way I hold the guitar in the picture, the image is mirrored. By the way, I like your taste in NOFX. Have you listened to any other punk bands much?

Living in Australia is not too bad. There’s a really good live music scene with bands like Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus touring pretty extensively. I think you find good music where ever you are; sometimes you have to look a little harder. The internet makes finding good music a lot easier. What is the music scene like where you are?

À propos de moi

Co-founder of Metabolic Records.
I'm a bit of a sucker for good production work.
Yes, I know that Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails are not actually industrial. I have no control over the Tag Cloud genre sorting.
