Hey, not been on much recently haha, yeah, I've been alright, started working in Asda for what I thought was part time, but it seems to be all I do haha. Still it's over £6 an hour so that's not that bad. What have you been up to? More shows?

Hey, long time no speak! Been listening to Lil B a bit more, I really like his wackier stuff like Wonton Soup, do you know which album I'd download based on that? If you haven't heard John Maus's new album I'd definitely give that a bash, probably my second favourite album of the year so far after SebastiAn's album. How's Grimation getting on? I've noticed your tendency to use the word "swag" on facebook lol :P

I didn't even notice but your music taste is all over the place in exactly the same way mine is. Ever listen to the Birthday Party? I think you'd be really into them. Same with Naked City. What'd you think of the new Xiu Xiu single, Daphne/Only Girl In the World?

More unreleased classics - Wonderful Ass, Possessed, Player, Do Yourself A Favor, All My Dreams, Power Fantastic, Empty Room, Love...Thy Will Be Done, 4 Lust (this is the most recent unreleased song to have surfaced, a duet written for Jill Jones) Also check out the song Sugar Walls written for Sheena Easton. It's probably one of the best he's ever given away. And of course everything written for The Time. As far as released things most people skip over, I think the triple album Emancipation has like 12 brilliant songs on it, at the very least one solid albums worth of material.

Responding to your post on the Prince page, you have to explore the guy's outtakes and the songs he's written for other artists. These are for the most part bootlegs that have surfaced and been traded over the years. A lot of them are veritable classics. They can be found in good quality on a fan made bootleg collection called 'The Work' which a google search should turn up. There are other collections like 'Prince's I-vault' that are fine, but they're a little out of date and not as comprehensive. Here are some of the most popular and some of my favorite of his songs that were never released. Lisa Extra Lovable Moonbeam Levels The Grand Progression Neon Telephone All Day, All Night Play Mind Bells We Can Funk (1986 recording) A soundboard recording of his 1984 birthday show has also recently been released. It's stunning because he played material in it that has never been heard ever again that was supposed to be on the canceled Revolution project 'Roadhouse Garden'.

Listened to "I'm Gay", it was alright, I still think in terms of Hip Hop POS has been the best thing you've recommended me. I think most people have already decided whether they liked "I'm Gay" before hearing it based (no pun intended) on their opinion of Lil B himself to be honest haha

  • iamnotapie

Ahh so it actually is called "I'm Gay", I wasn't sure if that was a Mediafire troll trying to annoy/confuse people, meh, political correctness has no place in music in my opinion, it kind of has a function when it isn't abused, and I certainly don't trust people when they talk about "it's political correctness gone mad" but yeah haha. Yeah Boris/Sunn O)))'s collaboration is amazing, it kinda takes the edge off Sunn O)) while still retaining the experimentation of both sides, and the fact that Sunn O))) and Wata are probably my three favourite guitarists of all time helps.... I do judge you slightly though for not being into Sunn O))); Wonton Soup is more fucked up than anything they have ever done lmao (in a good way (I think haha))

    3 jui. 2011 Répondre
  • iamnotapie

Yeah Sunn O))) definitely isn't everybody's cup o' witches brew haha, I love them but I can totally see why people wouldn't, the collab they did with Boris is terrific, I'd recommend that even if you don't like Sunn O))), the Sinking Belle (Blue Sheep) is an amazing song it reminds me of Twin Peaks haha. Yeah I've heard quite a lot of people hate the Lil B album, I'll have to listen to it, it;s been ages since I've listened to a controversial album haha

Cool, I might try Fruityloops, I've been recommended a few different softwares now so I've got a few to pick from. I've heard good things about it. Yeah Glasgow is good for live music, not been to a gig in donks though, it's finding people to go with really and there's only a few bands that I'm so into I'd go by myself, Sunn O)) for instance. Yeah that was my first time hearing Ordo Rosarious Equilibrio as well and it was pretty cool. Cool, I'll download that as well, I downloaded Lil B's album, but I think recently I've been in a more doom n' gloom mood (musically, I mean haha) so I'll listen to that when I come out of it. All the hip hop you've recommended to me has been brilliant so I'm sure I'll love it

I've not bought any new video games in a while. Have you played Dragon Age? That's the last game (series) I can think of that ruined my life haha

I've only been to Ediburgh like twice and that was as a glorified tourist so I only saw like Morningside etc but I've been told some bits are rough as hell, yeah even I find some Scottish accents scary, I think a Mancunian accent is the scariest in Britain though (porbably because a few of my cousins have this crazy Glaswegian/Mancunian hybrid accent which is as rough and ugly as it sounds haha). Yeah my charts are in desperate need of hip-hop I think Salem is the only hip-hop with vocals in my charts (if they even count as hip hop) I'll give that a listen. Yeah Xiu Xiu are like really influenced by Scott Walker so I'm sure they'd jump at the chance if it was presented, Walker just needs to stop being such a recluse haha. Yeah I'd love to be in a band but none of my friends share my tastes like even remotely I've considered getting some decent software and trying to make my own, but I have no idea where to start haha.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xan2xU-ZFic&feature=related This is somewhat similar to the area I live in haha, it's funny/depressing and frightening all at the same time :/ I listen to Scott Walker, but I tend not to listen to him while I'm on a Xiu Xiu binge, I think I can only take so much "fucked up" at once, I think if Jamie Stewart and Scott Walker met, some gateway to hell would be opened haha. I've not seen the doc yet, I think I might watch it soon. I don't think it's twatty not to be nervous haha, I wish I had the guts to make/perform music haha. I think I saw "The Tallest Man on Earth" on Jools Holland, but I never bothered looking him up again, I'll get on that. Have you heard Salem? If not I recommend listening to their recorded stuff, but don't watch any live performances, they blow live haha.

Yeah I saw Xiu Xiu in quite a few people's charts, but was put off by the indie rock tag a lot of people give them (how anyone can think they're indie rock is beyond me) but I finally decided to give them a listen and it was pretty much all I listened to when I didn't have the internet, I've bought Fabulous Muscles and Dear God... but my shitty laptop doesn't have a CD Drive haha. That's awesome about Budapest, you nervous at all? Yeah my housing is finally sorted, I had a flat in the city centre which was awesome but the council moved me to some estate in the middle of Smackville haha, it's not all that bad really, it's just very errr "Glaswegian" haha. I finally decided to cave in and listen to Witch House, I hate myself for it but some of it is actually really good haha

Hey, started using this again after months of inactivity so I had to reset my charts, kinda bummed but those Panic At The Disco plays O had buried away'll never see the light of day at least. Watched your video for Bitterseetheartattacks a while ago, which I thought was brilliant, how's Great Imitation getting on anyway?
