You're welcome! Also, would you be interested in buying BIG POPPER? I have an extra copy to sell so I thought you may be interested... It's not the first press edition with the bonus DVD but it's in mint condition, I just opened it once or twice to rip the CD.

If I remember well, I bought her indie album years ago from HMV Japan. It's still available here. YesAsia has City Caravan listed on their site, but since they don't have it in stock I don't know if it's actually available or not... You also could try to find them on the auctions sites :)

by the way, i think this one is on youtube but you wouldn't have been able to watch it because it's blocked outside Japan (unless you can get around that somehow) - but this song is one of my favourites from MUNEHIRO. "SUPER WOMAN" and "again" are also good, and they're also not on youtube but are on dailymotion.

this makes me angry - go here and tell me, how many songs did i scrobble by 鈴木雅之 from the album MARTINI II? 13, right? but on my profile, in my top artists from the last 7 days it shows that i've only listened to Suzuki Masayuki 11 times. why would that be?

oh you play the guitar? and can figure out a song just like that? that's super cool! i play guitar a little bit, very basic though. i'm better at piano, but i still suck at playing things by ear. okay i'm looking through her discography to find songs that are similar to Yellow, and this time i'll try to be accurate. You know you love me?, Trill Trill Licker (or however it's romanized), Twinkle, PIONEER, Dancing Now, TREE CLIMBERS, hayaru kimochiteki My World, Dear Jazzmaster '84, Moustache, Dive Into Shallow (b-side from Jasper), You bet!! (from 5years), Make my day!, KEKKO, Moon Light, kidoairaku plus ai, deep beep, Synchronicity, one more, c'mon, Satisfaction. those were the ones i identified, going in order from her first to last album. i don't know what albums you've listened to, but i'd most recommend Circle and 8EIGHT8.

oh when you asked me about songs that are similar to Dear... i didn't answer because i don't listen to that song much and i always have a hard time remembering what it sounds like. but i listened to it today and if you like that song, i suggest love & smile if you haven't listened yet. also Wishing, beloved (from Distance), Thinking of you (from Esperanza), maybe Love Song from Love Place.

Patrick is one of my middle names, Sheldon is my first name. What's yours, if I may know? you know something I thought of that you could do, is with your knowledge of Japanese you could be a translator or interpreter or something. And if you learn more Russian and get good at it, you could be of use to secret service agencies! really, Russian is useful for that.

yeah i can't wait to listen to their next two albums, i really love the song Eden, so if that's any indication of what that album is like then i love it already. I actually started to lose interested in Ayu around 2008 and never really gained my interest back. i've listened to all of her albums since, but none have really appealed to me that much. I actually did really like Colours though, because of the wildly different direction - she definitely needed to mix things up and that she did. I like the concept of the album, and I really liked Terminal, Lelio, What is forever love, and Merry-go-round. I was hoping she'd continue with that sound, but the Zutto... single sounded really boring, and A ONE sounds pretty boring too. it's back to the usual sound she has. which I understand is what appeals to her Japanese fans so I can't fault her/avex for that. Colours was a nice break from the usual.

yeah OJS's single is actually pretty good! and it didn't sell well at all so i guess they weren't received positively - i doubt they were expecting them to be a hit though, it was probably more like "hey AKB is becoming really big and we already have a bunch of sub-units and new groups coming, so why the heck not, just for fun." OJS is actually for ojisama, which means old man right? i think they are actually bodyguards that work at their theater in Akihabara. anyway what is the meaning of mace? that's your first choice for a name right?

Red Moon is a lot better than Seventh Heaven. both singles and album tracks are superior I think. regarding my username - in AKB48 land, kenkyuusei are the members that are in training. whenever there is a new generation, they start out as kenkyuusei before being promoted to a team. OJS48 was a temporary unit consisting of old men. they released just one single. there was no kenkyuusei for them, I think their formation and single release was more just like a joke. but I thought the idea of an OJS48 kenkyuusei was a funny. what about your name?

oh by the way, going back to malice mizer, you'd probably like this song. I listened to Harmonia (which was great, and I already have two favourite songs, 久遠の海 and Harmonia~見果てぬ地へ~) and then listened to that MM song right after and it sounded like I was listening to the same album. perhaps Bara no Seidou would've been a better recommendation than merveilles - the whole album is on youtube in one video so you can listen to it there before you download it!

well /h/ is pronounced as a velar fricative, so it's like the German sound, or the sound in lochness/Bach. you probably have the sound in Croatian, it's really common in languages but English doesn't have it (anymore). i haven't actually met anyone from Croatia either, i have from Serbia though. and you said where i live looks nice, well from what i've seen of Croatia it's quite beautiful! i suppose Canada is too, but i haven't seen most of it, it happens when your country is this big. and yeah that is the main reason that i wondered lol, seems like when you're not sleeping you're listening to music. that also happened with somebody else i'm friends with on here and in his case he's a freelance editor or something like that. i'm very curious to know what you do, but if you prefer not telling that's totally fine. oh and one more thing, in "happy morning, i'm going to buy a cow today" the first letter is an uppercase i, not a lowercase L. Blackfoot doesn't have L.

I did a job shadow for an audiologist and it seems really cool. plus i'd actually be helping people. i'd be surprised if you had heard of my town haha, even people from elsewhere in Canada haven't heard of it. and i know very little about Croatia. i'm not even sure how Blackfoot got its name. their own name for their language is Siksika i think. it's a very interesting language, most of the consonants are /s/, /k/, and /t/, and the most common vowels are /i/ and /a/. a classmate and i just finished putting together our project in which we have to create a dialogue. "Ahsikskaanaotonni, ninsst" means "good morning, sister" and "Iitaamikskaanaotonni. Nitakohpomaa stamika anohko ksistikoyi" means "happy morning. i'm going to buy a cow today."

yikes! that is frightening looking. yeah, i learned a lot about and worked with sound waves in my phonetics class. sound is pretty neat. i'm actually considering a career as an audiologist, which is someone who treats hearing with hearing aids and such. i'm not fluent in any other languages, i've dabbled in a lot though. Japanese is probably the one i've progressed in the most even though i haven't taken any classes. i've taken Italian, Russian, and this semester i'm taking Blackfoot, which is an indigenous language from my area. in fact, the name of my town, Okotoks, takes its name from the Blackfoot word for "rock" because of this thing which is just outside the town.

just think how great lecca's music would sound if it was mastered like Miliyah's xD thanks for the education. i'm actually pretty interested in that kind of stuff since i'm a linguistics major and have an interest in acoustics and stuff but as you can see, don't know anything else, what what i've learned in my phonetics class.

  • OJS48kenkyuusei

haha maybe the sound engineers just don't really get reggae and how to make it sound good. how do you tell if a song has good mastering/engineering anyway? you seem to know a lot about that, whereas i'm rather oblivious. i never even noticed that the sound of lecca's music is horrible until you mentioned it. well, i think i did find myself displeased with how it sounded sometimes but never consciously thought about it. and i do remember you making a post in Miliyah's shoutbox about how amazing the mastering is, Destiny in particular i think you singled out.

i still mostly listen to japanese music. in fact someone on here once told me i should listen to more american music. well, the american music he listened to was mostly lady gaga, beyonce, madonna, britney spears, etc. all of which i've listened to before, and their music isn't really that different from Koda Kumi, Namie, etc. so i don't know why he thinks i need to listen to it lol. i don't actually listen to that much american music, most non-japanese music i listen to is...well, quite varied, sometimes i find some stuff on newalbumreleases.com. i like some european music. i like some electronic music but not EDM, more alternative, especially when it's mixed with rnb/soul kind of. think Miliyah's You're Beautiful, stuff like that is up my alley.

i actually did go through a manga phase but i wasn't that into it, never read any entire series except for this one really great funny one that only had four volumes. i could never really get into it. and i've watched one anime. Seventh Heaven was pretty good, yeah lots of the songs i had already heard, and most of the songs that are from the best album were any of my favourites so i think i'll like their other albums more. my favourite non-best album song was probably love come down.

wow it's been about 10 years for me too...that's crazy. 2006 is when i joined JPM and that was when they still had a downloads thread, so i spent lots of time downloading stuff there. what was/is your username on JPC? the situation is almost the same for both of us, i got mad that people assumed i was into anime and manga because of the music i listen to, and it actually made me dislike the culture surrounding that. i haven't taken a Japanese class at school but i know some people that have been in them and they are really into anime and cosplaying. which as you said isn't a bad thing, i just don't want to be associated with that just because of the music i listen to. we have a lot it common it seems.

but for me it's really the same reason that i listen mostly to japanese music. it's not because i don't LIKE music in other languages, it was just really exciting to discover and i kept discovering new artists and the ball just never stopped rolling.

how i started listening to japanese music is because there's this kids magazine that i used to subscribe to here in Canada, and the April 2003 issue was all about Japan. and it had a picture of ayu and had a little blurb saying "Japanese are crazy about Ayumi Hamasaki. she's sold more records than blah blah blah" and they chose a really horrible picture of her too xD but it wasn't until two years later, when i was 13, that i was on my computer and bored, so on Windows Media Player (ahh back in the day) i remembered her from my magazine and looked her up. that led to me downloading some songs by Namie (Say the word), Dir en grey, Malice Mizer, and some songs by some random groups like Two-Mix. and then i discovered JPM (the predecessor of JPC, were you on there too?) and it took off from there.

haha i will also listen to a song and not even realize how great it is until later. for Kaela i think her best albums are Circle and Scratch. i'm not a fan of any of her albums after Scratch, even though i own +1. that actually is a pretty good album i just always used to think i didn't like it because i didn't like the first song or the last song. so i never really considered everything in between xD people rave about 8EIGHT8 and many consider it to be her best. i did really like her single Today Is A New Day which is from her latest album, but i haven't listened to that album yet.

i really like Hate tell a lie, in fact it's probably my favourite from storytelling. also, the storytelling [instrumental] is gorgeous. from her first album i like I BELIEVE, I'm proud, LOVE BRACE, and Just a real love night. i've listened to her third album, but nothing really stood out to me. i basically just listen to storytelling, i don't even listen to her first album very much. and wow i feel like of guilty for being a VIP, especially since i didn't even ear it xD if i had the power to make people VIP then i'd definitely make you one.

oh you have to be VIP to do those things? what is freeleech anyway? i don't take advantage of that because i don't know what it means xD other than most of Metis' releases, i don't own a whole lot, just some random stuff that i occasionally see on eBay or stuff i've gotten from CDJapan or YesAsia in the past but these days i hardly buy anything. it's too expensive, so if i buy music it's usually not Japanese. i have Utada's albums that were released in Canada, all three albums by THE LOWBROWS, a couple of MAA's releases, a Leo Imai album, a couple of Namie's 8 cm singles because i wanted to start a collection of 8 cm singles. oh, second to Metis would probably be my GO!GO!7188 collection. just some random stuff really. GReeeeN's first three singles.

so there is no one way to become a VIP, it's just through...things like that i guess xD maybe you have to be part of the community, and the mods can give VIP status to whomever they want. you could do something that's legitimately really great and they could make you VIP for that, or it could just be something silly like my situation. by the way, i've started paying super close attention to what you're listening to. do you buy much music? if you do, what do you usually buy?

i'm also kind of a discography person, i will choose an artist and listen to them one album at a time. i'm doing that with Kalafina actually, i've downloaded Seventh Heaven and i'll listen to the rest of their albums. and then their singles, to get the b-sides that weren't on albums. i did notice that you really liked Every morning xD it is a really great song. i kind of regretted recommending Lady Generation after i did because only like half the songs are actually written/produced by TK, but it still has some good songs on it. how i became VIP: kind of a funny story. on the forums i made a post asking if i took a picture of me holding a sign saying "i love jpopsuki" would they make me a VIP? so one of my friends agreed to make the sign and take the picture of herself holding it while showing some cleavage xD the mods on JPS figured it wasn't me ("so how much did you pay your friend to take that pictre?" lol) but they made me a VIP anyway.

  • OJS48kenkyuusei

yeah it's very nice to be able to talk to someone about lecca, and i can't wait for you to listen to more Metis because her fans are even fewer xD the Red best album was good, i'll have to listen to it more to decide which on i like better. my favourite songs were kagayaku sora no shijima ni wa, moonfesta, hikarifuru, mune no yukue, Eden, and Alleluia. there were some other good ones too, but those stood out to me. i actually liked misterioso. i'll have to listen to hikari no senritsu a few more times since i read the shoutbox and you (and others) seem to love it a lot.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

my favourite YU-A songs would be gomenne mama, TELL ME TELL ME, Flavor, Try Again, aitai..., Little girl, yuuhi, You are my superman, awai kioku, aishiteta, mimamotte agetai, soba ni ite, sugu kiete. and I believe in myself. not in that order. my absolute favourites would be You are my superman, gomenne mama, and TELL ME TELL ME. oh and also Chikai - it's a Dohzi-T song featuring YU-A, but it was a bonus track on DREAM, and also released as a single.

wait, HOW did you find my youtube channel? LOL yea that's me. oh dear. the song is Feelin' Alright by capsule, from their album STEREO WORXXX. i thought it sounded like she was saying "feelin' a light" oh i just remembered, it's because i sent you a link to the Metis stuff i uploaded, right? you know, i've actually though about this before, how you seem like you listen to random songs. but for me, i'm very much an album person. sometimes i'll have in mind a specific song or a few songs i want to listen to, but you've probably noticed i usually listen to whole albums. i don't know why i do that.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

actually, any of globe's first three albums, and pretty much anything released around that time. maybe not so much FACES PLACES, that album's a bit more experimental, but Love again and their first album i think are pretty close to the sound he had going on with Namie. Tomohi Kahala's first album too.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

this isn't really a recommendation, but this song is my current obsession xD and don't worry about all the questions and stuff, sometimes it takes me a while to sit down and reply to it all but i do like discussing music that i like with like-minded people.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

regarding Tomomi, that's fair, she's definitely not for everyone. if you ever are curious about her go on youtube and watch Crush and little, that should give you an idea if you'd like her. Kana really doesn't have a song quite like You are the one, maybe Wishing from Thank you, Love. yes you should listen to that album, if you like WRONG then you'll probably love Where are you?

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

both those YU-A songs are good, I'm kind of surprised you didn't like wasurerarenai koi actually because it reminds me of SAYONARA BB/BYE BYE xD 2 Girls is pretty good. As for TK, yeah there's definitely way too much out there to listen to in a short time. if you like Namie's TK album, maybe LADY GENERATION by Ryoko Shinohara. and one of my favoutite albums is "storytelling" by Tomomi Kahala, although i haven't listened to it a lot.

  • OJS48kenkyuusei

sorry i reached the character limit in the last message! have you heard of Milky Bunny? if you like generic pop-rock music then you should check her out! she has some really good songs. also CORE OF SOUL, and specifically their first album Natural Beauty. and one more - tomomi itano. if the fact that she's an ex-AKB48 member turns you off then just pretend it's not true. you said you like generic pop music. but recently she has had some more interesting songs, such as the new songs on her album and on her last single, COME PARTY! okay i'll stop now, sorry that was excessive, i'm just not sure which artists you were seeing that you hadn't heard or/were curious about xD

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

well i took a look at some of my top artists that you don't have in your library. you haven't listened to much TK music eh? other than Namie's early music i'm assuming since she's your top artist. TK's first band was TM NETWORK and some of their albums from the 80s are really awesome if you're into 80s dance music. then in the 90s he started the group TRF which was less pop and more straight up dance music, so if that sounds like something you'd be into i highly recommend their first album, THIS IS THE TRUTH. then he formed globe, and their style changed quite dramatically, from pop-dance music much like Namie's SWEET 19 BLUES/Concentration 20 albums, to trance, to rock, to more experimental music. other than that, i highly recommend YU-A since you like Miliyah. and if you're into electronic music, Schwarz Stein is excellent - New vogue children is one of my favourite albums. and the vocalist Kaya, you might like his solo music considering some of the other music you're into.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

haha yeah that's also the theme of the shoutbox for the song, you're not alone. isn't it though? it's so good, it also took me a few listens before i realized it. as for your other shouts, i have listened to Voice of EARTH and thought it was a pretty neat album, i only listened to it a couple of times though. i tried listening to delicious way (i think that's the name of the album, maybe that's just the name of one of the songs though) and stopped after a couple of songs, that was a few years ago though, i did the same with Miliyah's TOKYO STAR and now it's one of my favourite albums. i'll try some of the other stuff you mentioned.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

other than Kalafina what would you recommend? I honestly didn't love that Tsukiko Amano album, there were a few good songs though and I'll listen again.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

yeah I think people have this idea in their mind what visual-kei sounds like, but it's not always straight up boring rock music, and just like how I avoided Kalafina because of the anime association, I think it's advantageous to look past preconceived ideas because you might discover something great!

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

oh yeah you already listen to a ton of music so no pressure, it's just because you asked me about them and thought that might be the best option if you do listen to them. i don't listen to much rock or VK either but there's some i like.

    mars 2015
  • OJS48kenkyuusei

by the way, if you choose to check out Malice Mizer, merveilles would be a good choice - it has some good rock songs but also some cool electronic ones like ILLUMINATI and Ju te veux. and of course some nice ballads too.
