Awesome taste, love those doom riifs. I noticed you were scrobbling [artist]High on Fire[/artist], and I wanted to make you aware of a band you might enjoy. [artist]Wolfhunter[/artist] is a [tag]sludge[/tag] band from Ft.Myers, FL. You can listen to their full length here: [url]wolfhunter.bandcamp.com[/url]. I’m messaging you on behalf of my hybrid PR Booking Blog: [url]Orlandooom.com[/url]. Feel free to check out our artist roster :)

People give the Burger too much shit IMO. Give Progenies of the Great Apocalypse a spin, if nothing triggers, then that's cool, but you could be missing out. Abbath sings on it btw.

Unearthing a secret treasure--apt description for many of their albums. I doubt you'll find very many other bands that sound quite like them (though if you do, tell me!)--off the top of my head, I cannot think of any that have similar atmosphere or that combine the elements they bring together quite as well. Much of darkwave would probably pale in comparison because they are towards the top of the heap anyway but even so, I hesitate to call them darkwave or gothic or any of the other genres. That said, I personally have to be in a similar mood to listen to most darkwave and related genres: synth pop, new wave, post punk, etc.--all are lumped together in my mind. Perhaps after you take a brief break from DCD, these other bands will take hold. I imagine Cocteau Twins will take hold fairly easily, or at least they *should*.

I feel strongly for Into the Labyrinth because my favorite DCD song is on there. However, I love Spleen and Ideal very much because it is in my mind their most sensual and evocative record. I notice you've been listening to Serpent's Egg--another stunning record. I can't pick one! It's difficult to choose: even if I had to pick a worst, I'd still consider it better than 99% of all other music. Brendan and Lisa are masters. Have you ever listened to Cocteau Twins? Very different from DCD but just as flawlessly good.

Not really. It's quite close to growling, but in the same way as Vader's (a bit harsher, though).

Truly harsh vocals are to be found only on "Voyager". Some raspy thrashy ones are present on their late 80-ies albums (especially "Out Of The Abyss", which is their thrashiest LP).

Indeed, although for what it's worth your taste is quality as it is; you've got a nice selection of bands from all genres of metal in your charts. Looking through your charts I see a distinct lack of Pentagram, Saint Vitus, The Obsessed and Trouble, I recommend getting some of their albums are they are among the best bands which play old school doom.

All of them, really. As you might have noticed, I've gone through their 80-ies albums last week, and I'm digging each and every one (even Invasion). i haven't listened to "The Circus Maximus" yet, but that's rather Mark Shelton's solo album released under the Manilla Road monicker without his agreement.

Interesting charts... what's the best Grateful Dead album for a complete beginner?

that's hard, probably Epic or Quintessence. I've never listened to Nachtmystium, what do they sound like?

Yes. It is one of those things that shouldn't really work, but it does. The eastern elements are intriguing - they're not something that I had ever seen appear in death/grind until I had stumbled across the band, and they do it really well. I'm planning to get it once I get a few other doom and black metal albums I want badly.
