I used to have 3 CDs.
As in three, actual and physical, compact discs.
Whilst driving, which my constant roadtrips and daily routines require me to do, I mainly listened to Maxïmo Park
's A Certain Trigger
and Q and Not U
. I have come to cherish those albums, but they were the only things that I had at the time.
Of course, this shortage required a compilation-creation spree.
Being as the only iPod I have ever came close to owning sits on a boudoir in central California, I must continue utilizing compact discs.
Of course, I have music here, at my new home, but I must have music EVERYWHERE. Especially on the road. The car is prime singing time.
Early in my project, I realized that it was a waste of time classifying the CDs by artist.
By limiting the classifications of my project, only two more artists became available to me. The National
were allowed compilations, specifically in there honor. Not to mention, The National
was included in a "Favorites" CD and also a general medley. Creating compilations was not allowing my diverse tastes to be satisfied.
...And then I moved on to creating my compilations based on "moods". Barbarism Begins at Home
and Accept Yourself
by The Smiths
received heavy rotation. Not to mention, some old favorites likeNational Skyline
, and Modest Mouse
reminded me how fantastic they will always be.
Unfortunately, all the CDs I made to satiate my musical cravings were recently left in Metamora, IL. I lost everything while I attended the wedding of the century.
So I am currently down to one CD.
The last blank disc I owned was used to burn an iTunes playlist titled "Today, Your Life is a Musical
Right now, there are 3 songs on the "Today, Your Life is a Musical" compilation that have been shining above the rest. Third being I'm Not Sorry
, second being Genius
by The Dandy Warhols
and my current favorite is Trigga Hiccups
I'm home, as in I'm home in this area of the world. I'm home working at the B&N Bookstore, as in I'm home listening to a lot of Wilco
's Sky Blue Sky
. And I'm excited about this weekends dinner dates and the impeding Interpol Concert
Nonetheless, I fucking hate Nickleback
. I hate them more than I hate Puddle of Mudd
. But they are as equally hated as Creed
