23 sept. 2009, 19h52mMon 21 Sep – People Under the Stairs Wild wild show. Was front row. Monday night. party time is any time and any time is party time
25 juin 2006, 21h26mThis summer so far I have been to two amazing concerts vastly different yet still amazing
Dave Matthews Band at Nissan Pavilion, last night
First off, if you like dave at all and have the chance to see them live do it. Pay any price and go. Pit, lawn doesn't matter just go.
That being said going to see DMB is like going to some huge carnival where every single person is stoked out of their mind. You must realize that dave is like a religion to some people.
The gates opened at 3 for a show that started at 7 something. We got there at 330 and were by no means the first people. I'd say a little over half of the people who went tailgated. THat in itself was a blast. You always get a good happy buzz when you are excited out of your mind for something. THe grilled hotdogs and nachos I made weren't bad either.
We proceded to go in and catch about the last half of the opening act Gomez I had checked out some of their stuff earlier in the day so that was enjoyable as well I think I will listen to some of their stuff later.
Just about as Gomez was finishing it started to rain and I'd say just before dave came on the rain cut lose.
It was pouring but no one cared DMB is amazing and exciting and I am still excited. Right to my left a bunch of people were running jumping and then sliding down the hill effectivly making a mudslide.
It was a blast the setlist is
I still need to write about the Toad The Wet Sprocket concert I saw at Rams head. And I am going to see Train W/ Anna Nalick there on wednesday. So all in all I'd say this has been a good summer concert season.
21 mai 2006, 17h09mYesterday on the 20th (also my 18th bday) I went to the DC101 Chilli Cookoff. Which I must say was pretty out of control.
The thing starts off they let you in at 11 and you eat all the free chili samples you can until a little after 12 when the bands started, then all the shit hits the fan.
Bands In Order:
Everyone But Pete
Better Than Ezra
Everyone But Pete is a localish band that won the chance to open. Only about 20 or so people there knew their songs, but it was pretty fun when they covered Bon Jovi's Livin on a prayer.
Rude Buddha had a small folowing and had been at the cookoff before so some people knew them. I had never heard of them but there head man was such an entertainer it was still fun. During this bad you could say the craziness started. The mosh pits were starting and so was the crowd surfing. But, the crowd wasn't packed close enough together so I think I saw at least 10 people droped during these guys alone.
Tonic rocked so hard it was rediculus. I always kinda liked them but they were amazing live. Those guys you could tell had a blast, they hadn't toured in a while. And as their lead singer said "People were poping op like popcorn".
Bloodhound Gang was nuts. If you have ever seen them you pretty much know what to expect. It kinda blew my mind when their bassist beer bonged an entire 40oz of yeager. Oh, and their was a crowd surfing wheelchair that the singer got on stage and gave a beer. THat was awsome.
pic I found on the internet:
I was so excited to see Beter than Ezra and they did not disappoint. Their frontman is amusing and they are actually really good musicians the breakdowns in their songs were amazing.
I don't even really like hoobastank but the atmosphere when they played was something to behold. THe place exploded. Biggest mosh pit I have ever beheld.
I am tired of typing I may edit this later.
This pretty well sums up the day:
10 fév. 2006, 0h45mTrain - For Me its You
So today for some reason I was surfing barnes and noble and saw that train had a new album out. Being a fairly big train fan for a long time I was excited. So I went over to isohunt.com and downloaded it.
I am listening to it now and it seems to be the same good stuff with some new styles mixed in(ex. Shelter me). But I am not going to write a review because it would be too biased.
I may even buy this one, being a poor high school student with no job that doesn't happen often.
I didn't even wait to finsh the album to write this but I will update this entry with further impressions later.
Maybe with last.fm's recomended reading thang some other fans will find out. And if you do feel free to tell me.
Ok as for further impressions I said this in a comment below but it is a very solid complete album. The type you put on and listen to the end.
My two favorite tracks probably are:
All I Hear
All I Ever Wanted
in that order.
2 jan. 2006, 19h23mWell for christmas I recieved an xbox 360 so due to the ability to stream music from your computer about half of my music submissions to last.fm are gone. Xbox live is the reason that I have listened to Deep Blue Something so much, because you see unlike most people I like listening to chill music while playing my fps.
With chill music being said I have listened to State Radio a lot while playing Call of Duty 2. Among other Singer/Songwriters I have also been listening to a lot of Ben Kweller.
The Hush Sound's cd hasn't left my car radio since I put it in there. It is so good.
I also got a radio for my room so now I am using that a lot. It has a aux input so my mp3 player is getting some more use.
I also recieved a Pat McGee Band album for Christmas but since submissions are down you cannot see that.
So..... now my average of 1 track per hour will probably drop a fair amount
6 déc. 2005, 22h43mThe gangsta nerd rap group Futuristic Sex Robotz released a new song recently The Positronic Pimp. It is about the android from Star Trek. I've only listened to the song once but I thought I write a journal because now with the recomended reading the pepole that listen to them might find out.
Edit: Forgot to mention all there stuff(three songs) are available for free downloads off their website http://www.futuristicsexrobotz.com/
I highly recomend thier track Welcome To The Internet it is fairly funny
4 déc. 2005, 4h02mFirst off this journal is mostly for me I want to keep track of the bands/artists I have found and like using last.fm. You will noticw these are most of my top artists.
Here we go:
Toad The Wet Sprocket
Seven Mary Three
Ben Folds Five
Matthew Good Band
The Postal Service
30 Seconds to Mars
I also want to say that I didn't discover all these bands for the first time with last.fm but rather most of them I finally found out who sang the songs I love. and for that I am more greatful.
