The other notepad makes it look like you're supporting the entire alterna/indie music industry all by yourself. This one at least starts modest about its wants and needs. ;)

Thanks, got 'em. Any pointers re Tool? ubu_noir said not to be afraid of metal and that Massive Attack fans are also fans of Tool, so I thought I'd give them a whirl.

Joy Zipper - good barometer of my tastes. You will like their Joy Zipper & American Whip albums. I like their Stereo & God ep...

Magnapop The first album, [album arttist=Magnapop]Magnapop[/album], Michael Stipe produced, is single barreled. Demo-y quirky literate indie pop. The second album, [album arttist=Magnapop]Hot Boxing[/album], Bob Mould produced, is double barreled. Bob brought all his effects toys along. Great big guitar amps but underwater, placed at the bottom of a swimming pool. Bright immediately likable surface, some darkness underneath. I've never thought of them as grrls, which I take as a somewhat specific politics, at all. I like Ruthie Morris as a guitarist. Mostly straight ahead power chording, very nice rhythmic sense, and with understated bits of melodic fill thrown in. Julian Hatfield agrees. And as far as sharing: only three weeks now till I badly need some recommendations too.

Nah, 'grrrl pop' is a term Soundhog knew I'd understand. Nothing political or anything, lol! Just me. :s You want recommendations from us? Well, duckie, why didn't you say sooner?? LOL! We'll all be over shortly... : )

And, we're among friends here, disses OK: man what a flat-footed crowd in that video. Someone needs to teach one two three hundred of that huge number of people how to pogo. Or to at least head bang a little.

So I'm confused (stupid maybe) you cross out the band/artist when you get music from that band right? Bloody hell it's a wide selection!

24 août 2006, 20h26m
• Babs_05

lol ! yep. I cross out what I've got, or if I've tried it and didn't like it, eg Lily Allen. (ugh). You've seen the other journal called just 'Get...', right? There's more there. I should add some comments like you do, as reminders.
