Hey, man! I just discovered Myrath and it is a first time when I hear the mix of oriental (as for me) and prog-metal sounds - it sounds really great. If you will ever have a chance to play a gig in Poland, just do it! I will be there and lot of my friends will be there too, for sure! Greetings!

À propos de moi

Music means a lot to me, it has been as such from when I was five. It’s thanks to my parents that I discovered the fact that I had an instinctive inclination towards music in my early childhood. I remember when I was five and my mother used to listen to the local radio every morning that I enjoyed the beat and rhythm of Michael Jackson’s songs and the Bee Gees. It used to export me beyond the limits of imagination; it was magic!
My parents helped me develop my passion towards music. They used to buy me toys in forms of music instruments. I had my little guitar when I was five. I had drums too and a piano. Then, when I was 11 they subscribed me to piano lessons for kids. It was right then that I discovered what hides behind a song, notes and measures; it was magnificent! That was my world, and still is. I was especially attracted by low bass notes; they sounded right to my ears! I felt that I instinctively inclined towards bass guitars. Unfortunately, when I subscribed in “The conservatory Zeryeb for contemporary and classical music”, which was the most reputed conservatory in my town, there was no bass guitar lessons at that time. So, they advised me to take classical guitar lessons to work on the basics, and that’s exactly what I did for four years . I always thought of myself as a bass player, not that I hated guitar, but there was no chemistry, no charm. I was in love with bass guitars. I used to rattle guitar magazine and stop at every bass guitar picture in wonder. I love their shape, how they sounded; It’s in my soul… the beat.
I was a great fan of Metallica. Who wasn’t! I was a greater fan of Cliff Burton. At that time, I used to buy their records and try to play the notes on guessing with my classic guitar with songs like Anesthesia, Master of Puppets, and Justice for All. Later, I decided to form a band with my fellows and get myself a bass guitar to start the real work.
Every day, my dream to become a greater bass player and a famous rock star grew wilder. I played Jazz in hotel inns and restaurants with my guitar teacher Elyes Mazzouni (R.I.P), and that made me learn a lot of things that helped me later with my old group Propaganda. With Propaganda I played 63 cover songs for Metallica, more than 50 local concerts, and 2 demo CDs.
It was very difficult for that band to survive. We weren’t sponsored enough to cope with the international rock bands; we were literally below zero level! I was very disappointed. That wasn’t my dream! I decided not to play in amateur bands anymore. I discovered that my dream of ever growing professionally is impossible that I almost gave up hope. Until one day of July 2006, I received a phone call from my friend Elyes Bouchoucha keyboardist of the band Xtazy. He asked me to play a Jam session with a band in their studios and I accepted right away. That was the day when my dreams started to get real. Myrath was my dreams come true; I pay it with my heart and soul. It made me come alive again. Now Myrath is my resurrection; my salvation.
