... It's quite dualistic. "Conquer and divide''. You could also say ''Conquer and define''. And what I mean by that, Two sides made to play a wanted role. I could post you some cool Doom (And i will if you want) but instead I'm gonna post something weird: bizarre Schlager-pop cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iSsVskUcfo, And a bizarre cover by an japanese band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cetnPM-rmg Who most of the time play really heavy stuff about Jim Jones, John Wayne Gacy and other psychos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYHb42yTIqo

I met one of my older good friends some time ago. Quite similiar to me, interested in all sorts of weird stuff. And he had made some cool expressionistic art videos and music. And they were really good, something that I could buy. One of them was a stoner doom song, instrumental and the drums were programmed but sounded really professional. The other one was more ''badass attitude'' with some in your face-riffs. Sort of like doom laced with first wave-black metal elements. Anyway, that really inspired me. I'm even more inspired to improve to that level where I can do what I want to do. However, along with the doom metal has come this attitude (or should I say it has grown stronger) that mainstream media and stuff doesn't really amuse or interest me. Not because it mainstream, but because It's bullshit. It's all brought up as or filled with stuff that sets us behave in a certain way.

That Valis sounded cool, they probably took the name from Philip K. Dick's weird hallucination/book-thingie (wich I have yet to read). I bookmarked that to look up more from them, but right now my nerves are shredded because stuff that happend at work. Some drama with junkies, again. Godflesh 1-2 years ago was one of the best club gigs I've been to, bands don't always make me bang my head but they did. Jesu wasn't that great, as they are on record but I'm glad I saw them. Click-Click is disbanding... Well I guess It's better stop before you start to suck. But why hasn't A Split-Second done anything for a long long time?

haha, I wish I could dance. Actually a friend of mine (girl) got me dancing in a reggae club, full of reeeeaally african men so It I was completely out of my element. You know, I really can relate to that. Industrial, the term especially has become something that just now sounds bothersome and the scene/music what I like is more of ''something that was'' rather than something that Is. There's only one goth/industrial kinda place I know and It only max twice a month takes place in a (lol) restaurant ship. A ship that never goes anywhere. But i'm not ever going there. They only have the worst bands there and music too. Besides, all these industrial related goth clothes that seemed cool 10-15 years (and poser etc. weren't even aware of that) are now just worn by the semi-autistic, people who hide behind clothes (nerdy) and those obsessed with goth fashio. I can't relate to that.

How was the gig like? I wish to see Numan someday.. I actually missed Psychic TV gig when I mixed up the date they were suppose to play. Well, there's plenty of good shows coming, next one being Church of Misery. I've played alot my bass guitar and improved, but for a month or so I've been just too tired to do anything creative. I want to improve and start making actual music. Oh yeah, Roger Karmanik ended Cold Meat Industry and Brighter Death Now. Sucks ass alot. Now I don't think I'll never get the Very Little Fun-box.

That blog seems cool, probably something I needed I guess. The modern ''industrial'' scene is just horrible and got even worse. But I've been trying out new music quite alot. I'm broke too and my life is basicly just work and school and maby sometimes I have time or a chance to spend time with my friends. Anyway, Doom metal has become a very fond genre for me. It expresses quite well how I feel about my life or the world in general. To be honest, future doesn't seem promising to anyone, or does it?

What about music, film, books? What have you been listening/reading? I've sort of given up hope for newer (good) industrial/ebm-music. Infact old suicide commando or wumpscut doesn't sound good either. I'm more into the post-punk era synth/ebm/industrial stuff. But lately I've listened mostly for Progressive rock and Doom metal. There's just so much to explore in these genres. Oh and I've been reading some H.P Lovecraft.

I am pretty impressed and jealous at the same time haha. I own the entire Sandman set too but most of the other comic books I read on my iPad like I did with Transmetropolitan. I totally understand all the criticism of the art style, especially in the beginning of the series. I think Dream was a tragic hero and had elements associated with goth subculture but the art style wasn't consistent throughout. I was focused more on the superb writing since it was written by the legendary Neil Gaiman, so I didn't really pay attention to the art direction all that much. I haven't read Prince Valiant yet, do you recommend it? And thanks for the album, loved the music video accompanying that song. I'll listen to it when I have time. :D How is Chicago by the way? What do you do there in your spare time besides going to concerts? Hope you enjoy seeing Skinny Puppy!

have you read Neil Gaiman's The Sandman? I think that is the only comic book that I prefer to Transmetropolitan, other than that, Transmetropolitan definitely takes the cake for being one of the most awesome comic books of all time. wow, you are really talented, i love that little fade in and out effect you do on the first track of your ep. i thought my headphones were broken at first but i realized it was just the song lol. it's not really masturbatory to listen to your own music, but at least you aren't advertising the fuck out of it all over last.fm and pestering people, i am all for music promotion and everything but those people get on my nerves. also, what was your favorite Fallout in the series? i love free roaming games like GTA 5, Skyrim, Fallout, etc. F-Zero GX is a difficult game, I played it a bit at a friends house years ago. Were you able to finish the story mode? I envy that kind of determination haha.

Hey Auland, I apologize for my stalkerish behavior but I noticed how you got 50+ notes on one of your selfies on tumblr. Congratulations on that, I wish I was tumblr famous. Also, did you make that fax ergnomics project? It sounds like cyberpunk themed vaporwave. Something I had always been looking for being a fan of cyberpunk books, movies and comics and that whole 'video game aesthetic' in vaporwave. What are your top 3 comic books and video games if you had to choose? I got a desert island I'm about to crash into and I need some things to do. Hopefully it isn't some kind of cyberpunk dystopia island haha.

h an entirely clean slate (occidentally hit enter typing that last shout...). Nice yess, I would love to see sunn O)) live ever since someone described a gig they went to to me - apparently they went the whole way with cloaks and drifting smoke. Sick. Plus, good shout on the noise thing, I have been reading up on my noise recently. Me and a couple of my friends are making a noise CD at the moment with what we have laying around, we've only had one proper recording session so far but it was mucho fun (maybe not for next door...). The appeal is being able to make an album sort of without any, er, skill or songwriting abilities I think. I've been sequencing the stuff we recorded in ableton, I put together a demo if you wanna listen and give some feedback (punz). So, partly inspired by a spasm of potential self-promotion, I said I would co-curate some stranger on tumblr's noise blog and I have been doing a bunch of research for the thing and its super interesting.

Yeah I know what you mean, my rule of not reblogging anything has worked quiite well although its still pretty hard not to get sucked into just looking at a thousand almost meaningless pictures. I know haha, I think I spent some quite formative years on last.fm, nowadays I listen to most of my music on youtube. I can't work out if that's a good thing or a bad thing... Its pretty nerve-wracking sitting down and trying to think of something nice to listen to sometimes though haha. It sounds like my dad might buy me an external hard-drive for xmas though, I think I want to just move all my music off my laptop and just start wit

In my opinion, they don't have any memorable track to say nothing about albums. I really can't understand how they could get 500k plays on lastfm. Boring - this is only characteristic I can give to their music.

ANWYAY: this counts as a PS to the message i sent you on tumblr (go read it yoo), so PS: Yeah its hard not being a dick about music. Godflesh look mental live, you should go! My intro to doom was this mini festival at the city my unis in which had punk the first night, grind the second and doom all day sunday so everyone could mong out after the weekend haha - I completely fucked my leg up the first night so I was glad of it. I think the best band we saw was Sea Bastard, partly because of the name and partly because the dude's bass guitar was absolutely sopping wet, dripping with sweat by the end of their set. The festy ended with this band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlMN4A3zJlk and they were fucking loud.

I listened to a few tracks by the artists you mentioned, and I especially liked End Of Data. Really digging all the coldwavyness. Also checked out Yateveo and listened to a bunch of random tracks, really cool stuff. Harlot is great. But may I ask, what in gods fuck is a CD? haha.. Anyways, I still purchase the occasional cd/cassette every now and then. I recently found Cleanse Fold And Manipulate at my local goodwill on cassette for 25 cents, also some Joy Division and Bauhaus. And as far as ongoing life goes with me, I'd say it's been pretty interesting this last year. I've been working on releasing an ep within the next couple months, while also playing in a friends band, and hopefully releasing some stuff for that too.

I agree, the airmech was probably intentionally that way.. After all it's a sountrack-album. I haven't listened much for the new SP, but so far what i've heard it's ok. I think you're right about Front 242, but if i had the talent of those guys, it wouldn't be hard to create old school ebm with the influence of all the good stuff in newer ebm. Didn't know Click Click is putting out a new album, that's pretty cool. The Death metal/grind band Carcass is also putting out an record, the guitarist found himself creating carcass like riffs. They weren't suppose to record anymore even though they reunited, but they started jamming and agreed that if it sounded too forced, they'd give it up. And the single released from the album sounds awesome in my opinion, just like the old Carcass. Jesu is also putting out new stuff and i'm growing little impatient waiting for the new Godflesh album.. Maby i should get the new limited Live vinyl to keep me patient :)

It's ok, i understand. I've been wondering what's up with all that stuff that they teach you in universities. Women studies and black history and other alike. I don't think that stuff would ever have separate courses in Finland. I saw a Vice-document about some white ''pride''-group in some university, they said their idea was to be proud of their European heritage, but all they did was borderline-racist stuff. Even though i think a group that concenrates on ''white peoples'' past is a good idea, that group was everything but that. But the people's response to them was equally naive and you can't argue that because black people's past was taken from them (which is unfair) it's neccessary for them and the other way around is wrong. Everybody deserves to know and understand their past. And there's more than native killing and slavery for ''White people''. One thing i hate the most is people not accepting other people's differing views.

So the thing that some people say, to take pride in your race is idiotic because it's something you can't choose or change.. Well it isn't idiotic, you take pride from your children and your local football/ice Hockey/baseball too. Because that's part of your ''horde''. And you will draw influence from your ''horde''. It's primal, but it isn't completely dumb or useless. Let's say there are negative, neutral and positive degrees of pride of you horde (that can be country, race, town, any group). The people who have a negative pride at max are the people who are ''white man has done so much wrong yadayadayada''-people. And the complete opposite are the people who are proud and believe they are something part of those achievements. So in my opinion, racial pride and other kinds of pride are good, but too little and too much are bad.

    mai 2013
  • sewertroll

Oh and the race and crime thing. While i believe that races do have differences, other races are stronger and smarter...(by the way, why is it ok to say that black people are hung and stronger, but not that white people are smarter? It's ok to say that asians are smarter)... But anyway, even though if we're born with genes that makes us stonger or smarter or anything else. The culture plays even bigger role. Culture and parents. But the thing is, everybody is racist. We relate more to our own races music, sport, everything. The interest for these aren't in our genes. We need role models and it's our caveman brain that rationalizes that if everybody else that looks like you do that, you do that too. So, it should not be considered racist, as in racism as a crime, to say stuff like white people are smarter. It should be considered rude and ignorant. Just like all the other stuff.

Even though i'm for gay marriage, i think marriage is an obsolete concept. Even so, why do gay people want to change a whole church's view of their own religion? It's not like you can write extra pages to fit the view of bible. You can make your own church, your own view. And i believe in that case the other churchs will become obsolete. Gay marriage is a no-brainer, but if a religious gay person wants to change a religion, i think they must do better than just say there are things that gayness is implied in the bible. And the non-tolerant religious people should see beyond ''gay people go to hell''... Well, if that's the case. Then what does gay marriage change? A spot deeper down in hell? Yeah right..

    mai 2013
  • sewertroll

It's so easy to think that a person is bad, when his values are (what we view as) bad. I myself hate skinheads, i was bullied by couple of skinheads... wich made me wear napalm death's nazi punks fuck off-shirt. That changed when i was later bullied by a somalian (who by the way was also gay, ironic?). I have a strong prejudice about skinheads. But however, i'm a person who thinks about people with excpectations, i classify people.. But my expectations don't affect how i treat people. That being said, i might meet a skinhead i can get along with. Like (basicly) everybody else, i used to treat minorities with more nice attitude... Just to see that they mistreat you more than anybody else.

    mai 2013
  • sewertroll

But you giving no fuck about anti-gay people's marriage, try to think of them as people who have lived all their life learning that it's wrong and therefore not being able to understand how they feel. Think of them as idiots, who were born with low IQ. You can't be angry at them for that. Just like you can't hate somebody for their race. But the point is, it's their ratinalisation of their own closed mind. When a child gets angry for not getting his way and protests, shouts and misbehaves. We don't get mad at them, we want them to understand it's wrong. And if parents do get angry, their kids will end up more or less fucked up. Empathy is so much more powerful than anger, deviousness and the will to punish. The will to show the error of someone's way is also more powerful.

    mai 2013
  • sewertroll

... As people who are ''bigger, badder and stronger'' and therefore obligated to do more work. And i don't think it's homophobic to say this. I get along with gay guys, but i've never met one of those who are really really androgynic. Anyway, my point is that gay guys treat you better, probably because you're a guy. And they are less likely to take shit from women the same way straight guys do. Once again it's about empathizing, how we relate to different people.

    mai 2013
  • sewertroll

I think were stuck socially with all our differences, instead of actual tolerance, tolerance is something that must be forced to people and all kinds of minortities are allowed some sort of privileges. What i wonder is that do people actually believe we achieve a world where being gay is just as normal as being straight? Would parents wonder if their kids gonna grow up to be straight or homosexual? It seems absurd. Straight people will always be ''privileged'', bigger in numbers and other stuff. And with all this liberal-logic, maby in the future we are obligated to donate eggs to gay guys and sperm to lesbian couples, because we are privileged wich such. I often notice that the people who are pro-gay, often look up gay people as better, happier and nicer people. I myself have noticed that lesbians are often complete assholes.. But it's not always the case, that one friend of mine is lesbian. But those lesbian treat men as objects...

About that Sex-ed stuff, i believe it's pretty much like that in here. Our schools are quite open about sex-ed and there was even an old granny teacher teaching how to put a condom on a fake wooden penis.. Yes we laughed, but it was a good thing. By the way, why are you moving again? Oh and i ordered that front 242-vinyl, but damn i wish i could had that type o negative-vinyl. By the way, have you heard about the Primitive Race? http://www.primitiverace.com/ I think it might be something that i have sub-consiously been waiting for. Also, i watched this film Heavy Metal... I consider myself as an agnostic and maby little christian. But i can't relate to that kind of stuff like you said, nor creationism. I have grown rather anti-religious, i have a my own view of christianity and what the most important values are. Maby you can guess, empathy.. Something you can't find from these people who value more pushing intolerance from it and glorifying the miracles. Yes, you wouldn't believe in the values the bible teaches you without the miracles would you? And all those evangelists doing their own little miracles.. That is surely the heart of christianity..
