Hey dude, you listen to a lot of stuff I've never heard so I'll give some of it a try. I like checking new styles in case there's something for me there too. I listen to several different kinds of music, so I couldn't say exactly what I like, but anything with emotion and meaningful lyrics will likely appeal on some level. I added quite a few artists to my ilke profile. I'm listening to more music lately after a lengthy hiatus, having been a news junkie for years, so my musical knowledge has gaping holes in it. -- K

Hey, random message, sorry was just browsing :) Anyway you seem to be using last.fm fairly regularly so I thought you might like idiomag. It gives you a personalised mag with reviews, videos and stuff based on your last.fm top artists - this should be the link for you if you're interested. I think they have some articles about Katatonia in there

À propos de moi

'Music was My First Love', a song from my earliest childhood is a song I completely identify with, even though the song itself isn't exactly the type of music I listen to! :-)

While I have always had a preference for dark music, the darkest periods in my life introduced me to some of the darkest and heaviest music I had ever heard in my life. Most people associate dark music with negative feelings and depression, for me, the darker amd heavier the music I was listening to became, the more energy and strength I gained from it and the more beauty I discovered in it.

The list is too long to mention here (just take a look at my listening profile :-) but bands like Opeth, Moonspell, Emperor, Red Harvest, Dreadful Shadows, The Cure, The Mission, Fields of the Nephilim, Anathema, Project Pitchfork, Front Line Assembly really mean a lot to me.

Generally speaking I love any music that speaks to me and touches me deep inside my soul, regardless of style/genre; I can enjoy a-ha as much as Zyklon and Amorphis as much as Zeromancer.

I'm passionate about live music and like smokers need their cigarettes, I need my gigs; I really get a craving when I haven't been to a gig for a couple of weeks! I need it, feed me! :-D

Last year, while attending a gig by the fantastic London band 'The Riot Lounge' at Bethnal Green's Pleasure Unit, I discovered another amazing band: Rosa Alchemica. I absolutely loved their music, but I was equally impressed by their energetic live performance. And I'm not talking about jumping around on stage a bit and swinging your guitar around a bit, that's easy, no, there was something different about these guys. They RADIATE energy and passion, they LOVE what they do, and you can tell!

I met up with them after their performance and, well, to cut a long story short, I am now their manager :-)

Apart from music I spent quite a lot of (too much?) time tinkering with Linux, in particular Kubuntu and Debian. Hehe, ever since I discovered Linux I've had the feeling I've got a real OS on my PC and control over my PC again (the last time I had that was back in the day when I was running DR-DOS with Norton DOS, although some people would argue that even DOS was not a 'real' operating system :-)

To complete my geekiness, I also love video games although these days I spend more time 'playing' with Linux and cool toys like the excellent Linksys NSLU2. I do have the very cool Linux based GP2x console though :-D

Oh, what, you're still there reading this? Well, what more is there to say? I do have another passion: cycling! I cycle pretty much everywhere. It's free, it's healthy, it's environmentally friendly and I simply enjoy the act of cycling!

I love good food (in particular anything with chili!), cooking, nature, camping, reading (when I get the chance), spending time with my friends, and er, music!

Check out my Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/aerion for the latest Rosa Alchemica and Dead Next Door (London's second best band after Rosa Alchemica - although some will argue it's the other way around ;-) photos
