Hey, OK, so I just came across "Straight Edge" well, sorta... my son told me about how different they are in a mosh pit, he was more than likely enuberated there... but said they were into anti-smoke-drink-druggin and at the time it didn't phase me because, I was still partaking. My deal is when I did partake, I got hungry, sleepy, headaches, warped perceptions, low self-esteem, I felt in bondage and separate from my God spiritually - all bad stuff. No doubt I did have some good times, and I became extroverted, obnoxious and all that, which the next day was not always flattering. I'm over 40 so I'm trying to take better care of myself now and I don't need all that. I quit smoking cigs, don't desire to drink, smoke (gave up hard drugs in my 20s) but check this out. OK so, I started pot when I was 10 - did all kinds of shit off and on for 30 f'n yrs. I mean, geez, that's enough... I don't want to die from something preventable. So I'm very straight now, but I LOVE HARDCORE music!

Really a strange lifestyle... I'm not one of them but being one doesn't mean you're superior to people taking them... I personnaly take alcohol sometime to have fun but I can have fun without it...Same with drugs even if I know the things it does to your brain and I know some people that were "destroyed" by drugs.. But I agree a little bit with starkemptiness : not doing it a least one time per month or when you go to a music festival, is actually equal to boredom...

I'm straight edge myself and I would never consider myself to be a superior being or shit like that. If sammy wants to drink, that's fine. If another one wants to do drugs, that's not fine, but it's not my problem. with straight edge you decide to live YOUR life in a positive way and positive does not mean to degrade a persons value. If you want to preach about shit you should go to church or something like that. nonetheless everyone who tells that straight edge is boring shit: you don't know nothing about it.
