OOHH yeah and to "x-locke-x", punk never changes. What changes are little kids opinion on what punk is, so over time the definition umongst people changes. Punk has always had to do with anti-establishment being its number one ethic if you will. Now WHAT THE FUCK do green day have anything to do with punk??? There are many other bands on here that arent punk, but green day stick out the worst. CHANGE THE TAGS PEOPLE!

its interesting how everyone talks shit on greenday. but the truth is, all of those guys have punk rock backrounds. Billyjoe played guitar for blatz for awhile. and have u listened to sweet children(green day before they were called green day)? sweet children kicks ass. i do agree green day is and has never really been a punk band. but also have had punk songs, such as burnout. dont be so ignorant, you are giving punk a worse name then green day being titled punk. and yes, punk is dead, get over it.

I was having a great day until I sa Green Day as number 1. Then the day suddenly turned kinda good again because I laughed my ass off at Green Day being number 1. Then I saw The Offspring on top 8 and i suddenly remembered Green Day as number 1 and i traumatized myself. This has scarred me for life, fuck.

The only genre worse tagged than punk is pop punk. Descendents is poppunk, corporate BS rock like Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41, etc isn't. Punk is not only a genre, it is an ideal, if you don't live up to it you can't be punk. It's like calling yourself vegan while eating pork...
