music style can disperse. I think it's more about what instruments are used rather than location. There are French musicians with African influence and beats that dominate their style. I can agree, however, that Beirut is a bit of a misfit in this tag...

But also northern Romanian music (from Transsylvania and Moldova) for me is not really Balkanian music... - Well, in the case of Greece and northern Romania it is not clear. Only in the case of Hungarian or even more northern Eastern European music it is definitly NOT "balkan" music. Unfortunately some users don't know this fact yet...
