Walls of Jericho est un groupe de Hardcore formé en 1998 à Détroit dans le Michigan. Leur premier album a été A Day and a Thousand Years (1999). Peu après le groupe signa avec Trustkill Records et ils ont réalisés leur premier vrai album : The Bound Feed the Gagged (1999) suivi de All Hail the Dead (2004) et With Devils Amongst Us All (2006).
Les débuts : 1998
Walls of Jericho s’est formé après la dissolution de deux groupes de Détroit. Le premier était Earthmover, dans lequel il y avait Mike Hasty (guitare) et Wes Keely (batterie). Le deuxième était appelé Universal Stomp avec Aaron Ruby (basse). Se retrouvant sans groupe à la même période, les trois amis créèrent un nouveau groupe. Au même moment Candace Kucsulain, qui avait chanté deux ans dans le groupe Apathemy, s’est proposée pour entrer dans le groupe. Après de nombreuses autres auditions pour trouver un chanteur, le groupe accepta Candace comme leur nouveau leader féminin en septembre 1998. Durant les premiers mois, le groupe a travaillé avec des amis pour la guitare mais après ils ont décidé de demander à un ami proche, Chris Rawson, d’être le guitariste à plein temps, afin que le groupe soit plus solide. Avec les cinq membres au complet, le groupe a pu commencé à jouer dans la scène hardcore locale de Détroit. Le groupe a signé avec le label Trustkill Records et a sorti en décembre 1999 l’album The Bound Feed the Gagged.
