Musicien et artiste sonore d’origine canadienne, Tim Hecker compose une musique « ambient » lumineuse et contemplative. Il explore les points de friction entre le bruit, la dissonance et la mélodie dans de longs morceaux qu’il décrit comme des « cathédrales sonores ». Son écriture musicale s’appuie sur la superposition de nappes sonores instrumentales ou digitales donnant à ses compositions une texture et une profondeur particulières. Immergé par le son, l’auditeur est invité à vivre une expérience autant physique qu’émotionnelle.
Également connu sous le nom de Jetone pour son projet techno, Tim Hecker a sorti de nombreux disques depuis le début des années 2000, notamment sur les labels Kranky, Mille Plateaux, Alien8 Recordings et Fat Cat. Il a aussi réalisé des musiques pour des projets chorégraphiques et des installations sonores. Ses concerts ont été programmés dans les plus grands festivals internationaux, comme Sonar et Primavera Sounds (Barcelone), Mutek (Montréal) et la Transmediale (Berlin).

oh I only meant subdued in that it's a subtle amazingness... listened immediately after Ultraviolet and it feels more streamlined. still, awesome record I'm going to be playing for some time to come. This and the new White Rainbow are standout 2009 records I must say.
