Thrice est un groupe de post-hardcore et punkcore mélodique formé à Irvine (Californie) en 1997. Les membres du groupe se sont rencontrés alors qu’ils fréquentaient l’école. Thrice apporte son soutien à divers organismes de charité.
Leur dernier album, Vheissu, s’éloigne fortement de la formule qui les avait conduit au succès avec leurs albums précédents. Le groupe a opté pour un virage expérimental et composé un album plus lent (à l’exception de la brillante ‘
Image Of The Invisible’) et plus aérien, aux mélodies sans doute plus travaillées, avec l’utilisation de nouveaux instruments, comme un piano Rhodes. Dustin a également modifié sa façon de chanter, abandonnant largement les cris du hardcore.
Depuis Vheissu, leur son est devenu beaucoup alternatif, voire même metal progressif aux tendances alternative influencée par le punkcore. C’est un style très différent de leurs premiers albums.
Leur dernier projet, The Alchemy Index, constitue un projet de 4 album représentant les 4 éléments (Feu, Eau, Air et Terre). Leur projet est sortit sous Vagrant Records. Pendant l’enregistrement de ce projet, Thrice a rompu les liens qu’ils avaient avec Island Records. Ce projet est constitué de deux volets. Le premier volet, The Alchemy Index: Vols. I & II - Fire & Water, est disponible depuis le 16 Octobre 2007. Le deuxième volet du projet, The Alchemy Index: Vols. III & IV - Earth & Air, devrait être disponible pour le printemps 2008.

Also, Beggars tracks are intense as hell live. Their show at Chubby Rain was probably the best I've seen them play in a long time.
